I was apprehensive about staying in any hotel - heard such bad things about hotels in Micronesia but this hotel, while NOT 7 stars, is a good choice for basic amenities if you want clean. I had a deluxe room ($89.25) which meant a double bed and a single twin in the room, a flat screen tv, small desk, refrigerator, and a few chairs. This room also had a balcony and very good A/C unit in the room that was quiet. The bathroom has only 2 tiny bars of soap -- no shampoo, so bring your own. By U.S. standards, this would be a one star hotel but it is a nice sized room fit for 3 nights of work and free parking in the front. No hot pot or coffee maker in the room.
Restaurant downstairs opens for breakfast at 7 am and they make an awesome eggplant omelet. Crisp, without being oily served with wheat toast and 2 slices of orange. The water is good here - I was concerned about traveller's diarrhea but the town water is safe to drink and brush your teeth with.
Wifi in the hotel was an interesting setup - you need to buy a telecom.fm prepaid card first and setup an account before being able to utilize the internet. Ask the very friendly staff at the hotel - Valerie - for assistance.
It was convenient to the College of Micronesia making for about a 15 minute drive without morning traffic, or about 25 minutes at peak time of around 8 am. Streets are barely marked and there are always people, dogs, children walking on the main roads at all hours. Be very careful driving - especially at night as you could hit someone if you go too fast.
