Had dinner here based on the recommendation of our front desk clerk.
The food was good and the portions were large. Be aware that the menu is written in Spanish with few descriptions. Also, our waitress spoke broken English. Definitely not a deal-breaker, but it did make the decision making and ordering experience a little awkward. When I eat an unfamiliar cuisine, I like to ask the wait staff for recommendations. The recommendation that I rec'd from the waitress was that "everything is good."
I had the pork fillet (covered with onions), the yucca (cooked with onions) and the ripe (sweet) plantains. The black bean soup (served with a side of chopped fresh onions) was good.
I definitely recommend the fried plantain chip appetizer served with garlic butter for dipping.
Service was a bit slow on a slow night.
Worth the try if you are staying at a nearby hotel and looking for authentic Cuban food.
Also, be aware that traffic is extremely heavy in the general area during afternoon rush hour.
