“Quality Teppanyaki, Sushi and Thai”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 18, 2013

This a lunch time favorite of mine in Doral, just outside of Miami. They have reasonably priced meals with always good quality sushi, pad thai, and teppanyaki meals. The only draw back is the lunch menu which has a confusing up charge for the bento box that adds a couple more dollars to the tab if you get the deluxe meal so you walk out of there with a $23 plate of sushi and tempura which is on the high side for lunch. Otherwise the service is very attentive and quick whether the place is packed or empty- the wait staff is always great. You can't miss for good Asian food with Umami.

“Asian sensation!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 15, 2013

If you are really hungry, this is the place...this restaurant serves a lot of food..I mean a lot...the food quality is great, however I miss some of my favorite Asian dishes on the menu...place is always full and staff is energetic and service oriented...waiting time before getting what you ordered is moderate

“Crazy Beef is Crazy Good!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 8, 2013

Okay, I couldn't help it, but this place is delicious! I have been here on several occasions, ranging from date to Mother's Day lunch, and the food never disappoints. The Crazy Beef with Scallion is amazing, the Honey Garlic Chicken is great, the Pad Thai is pretty good, the Teriyaki is delicious and their Fried Rice is outstanding. The desserts are yummy and the service is always good.

“Great Food”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 6, 2013

I really enjoy Asian food and with so many in Miami, I have a hard time choosing what's next. Umami is one of those restaurants I frequent and can't get enough.
The interior of this restaurant is really nice. I brings friend and family all the time and they enjoy their visit.
The service is OK but the food makes up for their lack of attention at times. It gets busy and the waiters are sometimes running like chickens with no heads from table to table.
The food is great but the sushi bar is one of my favorite spots. I like and enjoy just about every roll you can throw at me so I recommend you try what you feel at the moment. I usually order and recommend the Spider roll for guests that don't eat raw foods. Deep fried soft shell crab, asparagus, avocado and cucumber with masago and sesame seeds, served with eel sauce
Their volcano chicken with shrimp fried rice is one of my favorite dinners. I get hungry thinking about that breaded chicken over spicy volcano sweet and sour sauce.
I enjoy Thai Iced Tea but unfortunately, theirs is not the best.
The prices here are not that bad but worth every penny for the decent portions.

“Great Food”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 27, 2013 via mobile

Good prices and good portions. Best Suchi ever. Hibachi - food really good. If you are going to lunch be there before 12 because at 1230 you have to wait at least 20-30 minutes. I like this place.
