“Suffolk's best”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 25, 2013

Fantastic meal here tonight: worth a journey. friendly staff and relaxed atmosphere with some excellent good value food: pork belly with prunes was great and a rump steak topped with slow cooked ox cheek both delicious. The chocolate brioche bread and butter pudding is to die for.
A local suffolk business well worth visiting.

Really nice food, but not open every night. Particular fine breads (which are also sold on saturday mornings. Good wine list and well worth a visit. Great value. Booking essential

“So close to home!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 11, 2012

We are so lucky having Mains in our village and only minutes away. Nancy is always pleased to see us, even if it is just before they stop serving. The menu has a good variety of fresh, locally produced food, beautifully cooked, presented and served - delicious fish, game, veggie dishes and puddings. The Saturday morning bakery is great too, I never knew you could make bread with so many different ingredients. Finally I think the restaurant is fast becoming the hub of the village with its variety of events, knit and sip evenings, the bakery, Pauper's Night, wine tasting and a lovely warm welcome from Nancy and Jason, when you can pry him out of the kitchen.

“Great food,great service,relaxed restaurant”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 17, 2012

You could easily miss Mains in the high street as you drive through Yoxford…but please don’t! It has now made the Good Food Guide as an additional entry for at least two years and deserves it

Its relaxed dining with a quality and interesting menu that appears to focus on very good local produce. My experience of finding Shark on their menu gave some “food miles” angst only to discover it was in fact rare local catch, interesting prepared with Polenta crust The hard to choose pudding options included a melt in the mouth Bread and Brioche Butter pudding , all at fair price for the Suffolk Coast

The wine list included equal interest with amongst its concise offering a Scottish wine.
It’s a rare pleasure to find a restaurant that is family run with an obvious passion for the food they serve. Service was prompt, helpful and friendly.

Simple and mildly quirky décor but there is a buzz in the single eating room when full and it clearly has local following

Don’t miss their Saturday morning bakery either with fresh bread baked and sold on the premises sold
