We went to Ebony after a day at Starfish Beach during Christmas Break December 2009. We pulled in and the owner (I cant remember his name) was eating dinner with his family and it appeared he had already closed for the evening. We had a very hungry group of 12 sunburned people. He offered to fix us dinner and gave us two choices- roast beef or octopus. He sent a kid on a bike to the grocery store to buy beer for us. We ate till our heart's content! The meats were delicious, the plantain was perfect, and the little salad was great. We had been warned not to eat salad in this town but it sounded good after a day in the sun. None of us got even slightly sick. The owner served us himself and took good care of us. The atmosphere could be intimidating to some. It has a lot of Black empowerment posters and pictures. The theme was Rastafarian and the place is not super fancy. The toilet did not have a seat on it but it did flush. It was so fun and the meal was outstanding! We will go back when we visit Panama again.
