“Clean, Quiet, and Comfortable”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 10, 2011

The Village Inn hits all the major requirements. While it is not fancy, it is clean, quiet, and comfortable. It is well situated and accessible to all the major attractions in the area. The room is large with a comfortable bed. It is not fancy at all but it did exceed our expectations by a wide margin. It represents very good value for a good night's stay.

We recently stayed at The Village Inn in Elora and found our stay to be very comfortable. The room was clean, service was friendly, and breakfast was a nice surprise. The location and price point was our primary reason to stay at this hotel.

This is a basic, relatively clean motel, complete with sliding doors out to a patch of grass with picnic tables. As of our visit, some of these tables were broken, albeit usable with care. The inn is dog-friendly (caveat: no dogs allowed on furniture, so we recommend a large blanket or something similar "just in case") with a $10 pet deposit. The rooms themselves are clean, not very large but with the requisite bed (or 2 beds, in our case), desk, cable tv, free wi-fi (which we really appreciated), plus a proper mini fridge and microwave. The bathroom needs to be updated, but again was clean, neat and stocked.
A word to those who have tobacco allergies: we were in a non-smoking room, but our room still smelled of cigarette smoke. Whether this was because of ventilation issues or ongoing renovations/repairs, we don't know. We did get used to it after a while, but it's something to note.
The owners/staff were quite friendly and helpful. The inn itself is within easy walking distance of downtown Elora, and you needn't even wander that far for takeout, as there's a Chinese restaurant and a pizza place right next door.
Overall, quite a pleasant experience, and we'll definitely stay there again if we're in the area.

An excellent place to stay., central to the whole area of shops, amish country, and markets. Good restaurants within short distance. Private ownership--give it that personal touch. Pleasant and efficient staff.

Perfect location. It is a 5 minute walk to Elora and to the bike trail. The owners are hospitable and accommodating. The service was very good and friendly. We would definitely recommend and return to this motel.

Stayed 4th and 5th July Booked this as a cheaper stay in Elora and our first experience of a motel. In all honesty I was not expecting much but this is a great place to stay the rooms where a good size, very clean and tidy, air con was needed and very good. The chap who runs it really cares and it shows in the quality and the tidiness. Views look at over the horse and cart racing circuit. I would def stay here again, if any improvement the stairwells could have been cleaner but once inside no complaints fromme at all.

We stayed in the Village Inn on the opening night of the Elora Festival. Usually we stay in B+B's in the area, but this time wanted somewhere more economical. The Inn is at a great location - just across the street from the Gambrel Barn, with plenty of parking. The room on the second floor was nicely appointed, very clean and quiet. The staff at the front desk was courteous and considerate. We only stayed one night, but I forgot something valuable in the room and the staff was kind enough to package it up and mail it to my Toronto address with no extra charge.
