This resort has the raw material of being top notch. The architecture is excellent with quaint cottages and a brilliant view from the poolside deck of the river in front.
What lets it down is the attitude of the staff and the quality of food. Not only will the front office staff be rude to you they will make sure you are as uncomfortable as possible. The food is at best average, usually missing that reference point as well.
They are not trained at hospitality, which is appalling because they will charge you upto 200 usd for a cottage. We asked for an extra bed to be put which they conveniently forgot. When we got to our room and didn't find one, the receptionist who was most likely drunk started arguing with us. Not wanting to spoil our mood 3 adults had to spend a night on a double bed.
We met the owner who is a local hot shot but considering the managerial staff he has put here, it seems like he hardly visits or listens to guests feedback.
The property on the whole is beautiful, if only they could give it to a proper group to run they could get very popular and successful. To me it's surviving on one time visitors who check in after seeing the property and complain about the service later.
Oh yes, a saving grace is definitely the pool which is neat and clean but you can only enter in summer afternoons unless you want hypothermia.
