Mahua Kothi is one of those places my wife and I will remember for a lifetime. We'll remember it for its luxuriousness, warmth and hospitality, amazing authentic food, a butler who caters for your every need with an almost telepathic ability, the guides who are highly qualified, and great indian entertainment almost every night.
We went there for our honeymoon, and we were shown what hospitality means. When we arrived, we were greeted by nearly every member of staff. We got to meet everybody, who they were, what they did, their story. It felt like visiting family.
They have 12 kutiyas fo guests to stay in, each one private and seperate. This is the first place I've been to where there are more staff than guests! I think there are approximately 40 staff to cater to your every need, about 8 chefs too. We had a free foot massage thrown in.
The manager Gill is a very friendly and warm person, with interesting stories and information. Our personal guide Harry was an expert on wildlife, and he enabled us to have 2 tiger sightings and a 3rd on elephantback! (although that's not always possible, we were lucky). In our jeep they provided blankets, hot water bottles, snacks and drinks. Every evening after our days safari there was a hot drawn bath waiting for us, candlelit, decorated with hundreds of flowers. Thats after sundowner cocktails, of course. Every evening dinner was in a different place: on the roof, under the mahua tree, or even private dining in your room,
All in all, an amazing place and an amazing 3 days! Highly recommended!
