“Comfortable Resort”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 16, 2014

The duplex cottages are spacious, clean and comfortable. There is a large, pleasant, manicured garden set in the center of the semi-circle of cottages. After returning from our morning safaris, we were treated to a freshly prepared (eggs ordered in preferred style) breakfast on a pleasant outdoor patio. We enjoyed gathering around a campfire for happy hour. Our 3 delicious Indian dinners were served family style in an indoor restaurant. Because the nights here were very cold, the resort provided hot water bottles to keep one's toes warm at night.

The village was within walking distance. Sharing the sidewalk with the cows and browsing the few local art shops made for a nice diversion from safaris and an opportunity to get a little exercise. There is also a liquor store in the village which has a good supply of Old Monk rum - a tasty beverage produced in India.

We have visited the place in Nov'13.Reason of disappointment are the Jungle Safari's.As the safaris are limited and you have to book in advance, we have confirmed our bookings in Aug'13 , so that we can explore all the Zone's of Bandhabgarh.

Mrs.Shalini Shukla is the concerned person who looks after the bookings and it seems she doesn't have any control on the safari bookings. She has confirmed several times to us that everything is in place as planned, but ultimately we landed up visiting the same zone ( magadhi) thrice and other zones untouched. The sole reason tourists visit the place are jungle safari's and they are a complete failure in this matter.Whatever has been confirmed and committed are completely opposite actually in spite of several reminders and confirmations well in advance.

It seems foreign tourists are given preferences than indian tourist as the revenue and margin is much more.As per my experience goes, no matter how much they will convince you that everything is confirmed and on schedule , do not believe them at any cost. Ultimately, you will have to compromise and they will try to compensate in terms of monetary discount & you will be utterly disappointed.

As far as the Food , accommodation and services, you will be extremely satisfied.

Good room although rough around the edges - some fittings not great (including shower that shoots out at a 45 degree angle). Food OK - nothing exceptional. Attentive staff. Nice green grounds, lit up at night with a multitude of lamps. Grossly overpriced drinks. A bit cheap not to include water with meals (and none in room).

The location of the hotel is great, the service is very good, the food is indian food only, internet is available in the lobby and 15m around it, insects is something by nature you have to get use to it as you are staying in the forest, one drop is the yellow color of the towels, everything else is great.

The hospitality of the staff here has made sure that every time I think of Bandhavgarh, I will remember Nature's Heritage.
The stay here exceeded my expectations in terms of the comfort in the rooms & outdoors, meals served & the flora within the property made it the most natural setting to stay.
The only thing missing is a SPA arrangement.

We were on a long road trip and Bandhavgarh was the highlight of our journey. This place is truly a home away from home! We booked a 4 night stay at this resort quite at the last minute, and had no clue about online bookings for the safaris in the forest. Mr. Rajvardhan Sharma was very warm and assured us that the safaris would happen even without prior booking. They kept their word, and we had the most amazing experiences there! The rooms are simple and quite clean. The service is impeccable - they never say "no" to anything that you ask for! They provided blankets to keep us warm on the safaris and hot towels to welcome us when we got back. One evening, when my son and I had to cancel the safari as he had severe ear pain, the manager sent someone to us with ear drops. Their hospitality was truly touching! The food is simple, homely, hot, fresh and very tasty. They have quite a wide spread at every meal and take the trouble to serve you at your table each time. The bonfire every evening where the guests gather and share their stories of the day over hot tea and biscuits was magical. We got to meet and chat with many others and exchanged numerous stories about our countries. On cold days, it is relaxing to sunbathe and curl up on the couches around the gazebos with a book. The ambiance is lovely! The Manager, Mr. Bunty Yadav works round the clock to make your experience a treasured one. They run a small Nature shop which is worth a look. There is a lovely book about the story of Bandhavgarh that one can pick up, which is a must buy for all tiger lovers. Down the road from the resort, there is a little shop called Bandhavgarh School of Art, run by two brothers who do some of the most stunning paintings of tigers.....another must see place! We would love to go back again next year and hope to see some tigers!
