“Good Government maintained hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 23, 2013

This property is good budgeted property with food inclusive package and very reasonable . The staff is very properly behaved and adheres every guest quite warmly . Everything is well managed and as it is an old property some things you may dislike regarding rooms & bathrooms . But over all neat and clean rooms with good house keeping . Pick up and drop is arranged at at additional cost . We were picked up from Umaria stn at 2 AM in the night with all the help they provide with vehicles and drivers . it takes 50 mins to reach hotel from the stn. We stayed for 2 nights in this hotel

Room Tip: Avoid cottage rooms in summer as the terrace becomes very hot.

Stayed only two nights here 14th & 15th March. The lodge is situated very close to Tala gate although there is no way of knowing which gate (or zone) you will be allocated. We opted for non-AC river cottage room. Actually nights quite cool so never needed the air cool or fan in our room, let alone any air conditioner. The great advantage of this room is that you drift off to sleep with the sounds of the jungle. Food is included and it doesn't seem to matter what time you are in the restaurant as the staff are always willing to serve cups of tea and snacks should you miss a meal. Room was a little basic but stilll had tea/coffee facilities and plenty of hot water, the location of the room outweighs any shortfall in decor. Mr Mohan Sharma was very helpful and managed to get me another drive where i saw a tiger. I was very pleased to have had that one last opportunity and i was rewarded with the sight of the beautiful big bengal female. I wish i had had more time to speak with him about the park and his experiences at the lodge. A good place to meet local Indian travellers if you are a western traveller. Plenty of monkeys inside the lodge complex to keep you entertained. A very short walk to the "town" a few souvenir shops and a nice clean grocery shop. Try to visit an old maharaja palace in the town. it is now in a state of disrepair but very interesting to see. Well done White Tiger Lodge and thanks again Mr Sharma!!

This place, a property of MPTDC is just the kind of place one would like to stay while on a Jungle Safari holiday. After having stayed in Baghira log huts at Kanha NP, I think this is one of the best managed property of MPTDC. The rooms are very spacious and well annointed and furniture of some good standard. The food is excellent, especially for those who enjoy good Indian food only. The staff, esp Mr kirti vardhan singh at the reception was most helpful and a ready smile.

Room Tip: Go for rooms 31-38

Staying at the White tiger Resort was a pleasure. The rooms are clean, well maintained, & any complaint is attended to promptly. Towels & sheets are changed on a daily basis (even if you stay only 2 days). The food is wholesome and tasty. The staff - both restaurant & front desk are polite & helpful.
Bandhavgarh is an interesting, exciting Park and definitely worth a visit to see the tiger & beautiful birds.
TIP : Before booking rooms please book your safaris - only THEN reserve rooms. There are 3 Zones in the Bandhavgarh National Park. Premium is zone 1 (Tala), second preferred is zone 3 (Katoli) and the least preferred is zone 2 (Magdi)
Each zone is divided into specific routes, please ensure at the Park entrance gate that you are not assigned the same route for consecutive safaris in that particular Zone. Please talk to your assigned Guide about this. (we were not aware of this and landed up doing the same route in the same zone on 2 consecutive days !!)
Tala is smaller, more dense, more water & therefore greater chances of sighting a tiger. Katoli is very interesting - forest as well as meadows. Magdi can be given a miss - mostly meadows next to villages. All you see is grazing cows & buffalos.

Room Tip: There are non A.C. rooms in cottages near the swimming pool & stream which have there are own ve...

This is the one off the best resort on Bandhavgarh National Park. It is situated near Tala gate and around 10 min drive from Magadhi gate.
Food and lodging in clubbed within the package. Morning breakfast was excellent. Staffs were good.
Non AC rooms are good, and the best part is it has a canopy walk near the non AC rooms which overlook the Tala zone.
Have a swimming pool which can be accessed all over the day. It is very relaxing to have a swim after a morning park ride.
Lots of playing area for children within the resort with seesaw, swing and mary go round.

Well, you cannot ask for a better accomodation nearest to the forest gate at Bandhavgarh than this place. The cotteges are real neat and all facilities are available. The swimming pool is also very nice. The Machan area near the pool is actually the place you get a glimps of the core area of the jungle. We were told by Mr Khan in the property that there was a tiger right next to the Machan for a long time some time back. Wow, that itself was great. The food is good ( buffet) and the rooms have all mordern facilities. Only be a bit careful. The whole family of Langurs have a habbit of creating confusion by jumping around the property. Rooms 5, 6,7 are good as they are on the first floor and near the reception. Try and catch the film in the hall on the tigers of Bandhavgarh. You can buy gift items from the shop in the property itself. Overall a good stay and it is worth the expense. Dont forget to talk to Mr Khan, he has awsome stories to share on wild life there. A great guy.

The Hotel is just near to the gate of the Forest reserve. Being a resort operated my MP Tourism the standard amenities are available. I had travelled to Bandhavgarh in 2007 and 2010. Both time I stayed here.
