The Day we went for Darshan, the Jyotirlinga was covered with Bhang all over and Eyes and Nose made from Badam and other dry Fruits. The Temple Hall gives u place to sit and pray in Quite. A spectacular View.

Also one can get to see lot's of Chimpanzee near the Sita temple and Liquor and Goats around Bhairav Temple. It is adviced not to get back the Liquor from temple. Offered completely to Bhairav G.

For the foodies in town, U can njoy the Hot Milk with Makkhan from Shops on the Main Mandir road and Buy in Rusk (famous in town), Namkeen's (lot's of Flavours and really Delicious) from shpos around the station. Also, BHANG, purest forms can also be bought in from the city.

“Jai Shree Mahakelashwar”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 27, 2013

The Mahakaleshwar in Ujjain is 1 out of 12 jotirlinga in India. The deity is believed to be swayambhu. As per Shiva Purana, once Creator God Brahma and nourishment God Vishnu had an argument in terms of supremacy of creation. Suddenly God Shiva appeared infront of them, Shiva pierced the three worlds as a huge endless pillar of light, the jyotirlinga. Vishnu and Brahma split their ways to downwards and upwards respectively to find the end of the light in either directions. Brahma lied that he found out the end, while Vishnu conceded his defeat. Shiva appeared as a second pillar of light and cursed Brahma that he would have no place in ceremonies while Vishnu would be worshipped till the end of eternity. The jyotirlinga is the supreme partless reality, out of which Shiva partly appears. The jyothirlinga shrines, thus are places where Shiva appeared as a fiery column of light.
Othere Jotirlinga is Somnath & Nageshwar in Gujrat, Kedernath in Uttarakhand, Biswanath in UP, Baidyanath in Jharkhand, Omkareshwar in MP, Trambekswar, Gushwar, Bhimashankar in Maharatsra, Mallikarjuna in AP, Rameswaram in tamilnadu.
The Mahakaleshwar temple is owesome. There is Bhashama aarti in early morning 4. DO not miss. You need to take dharshan ticket in advance. You can book va internet. So go for it.God bless you all.
