“FILTH AND STINK AT A HOLY PLACE”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed June 21, 2013

Dirty rooms, unwashed linen, stinking toilets without jet. Better options at reasonable rates available in the vicinity. I think they earn their client just because of their facility of online booking.

Checked in with family of 10 members on 9th June 2013. Booked 4 rooms online earlier and just had to check in. Could not find anyone at the reception and it started with all problems to annoy anyone to any extent. These are few:
(1) The guy came after sometime and showed face to express we are unwanted
(2) With power cut we had to wait for 20 minutes to move to second floor
(3) Guys porting the bags/suitcases were waiting till they are paid (asked directly for money)
(4) A/C was on but no cool effects in one room (water drops falling from a/c in other rooms)
(5) Door lock was not working in one room
(6) Telephone/Intercom was not working in two rooms
(7) Room service (any service) is pathetic
(8) When asked for tea/coffee we were told to call 9 and then 4 (TO-FRO)
(9) Washroom/Bathroom will not match any standard
(10) No complimentary Breakfast

Even with all these, it is 3 star? Surprised !!!
Yes, here is why...
(1) It is very near to the Sai Temple
(2) Very big and specious rooms
(3) You need to be prepared to ask for everything and check everything before unpacking bag
(4) Very Safe place and an excellent (not maintained) property of MTDC
(5) Not very expensive
(6) As a pilgrim you need to worry less on the furniture of the room (decent interiors)

Weighing both these, you will find it to be fine to check-in. Again it is very difficult to find a place of your choice for everything at a reasonable price tag. There are many alternatives (I saw about 15 options) but comparatively Pilgrims Inn will still score better.

This hotel always leaves you with a sense of being in a safe and secured place with personal parking space for your vehicle. The in home Neem Restaurant attracts lots of customers both residents of the hotel and non residents because of the quality of food served. The restaurant and the Lobby has just got a new look with freshly painted walls, new bright coloured upholstery. The staff are always polite and attentive to your needs. Transparency in online booking makes it easy for making reservations, a blessing for pilgrims visiting from outside the state. Proximity to the Temple is the biggest locational advantage of this hotel and though it is not a rated hotel the rooms are furnished with all the amenities in place. Have never stayed anywhere else when visiting Shirdi!

Room Tip: First floor garden facing !

I have been using the hotel for last 6 years continuously. Somehow i like the hotel is because of the location and not very expensive. Very large rooms. Now the some rooms are renovated. Of course please check the rooms before you check-in.

Room Tip: if you are in a family of 4 or more please choose the suite room on the ground floor or choose rooms...

We have been regular visitor to this place and have seen how this place has gone from good to bad. However, this place is very close to temple and that is the only advantage of choosing this place also there is plenty of parking space if ur using own transport. Neem hotel which is below will satisfy ur hunger needs. MTdC should take steps to renovate this place.

i traveled on 29/03/13, and had a booking of double bed a/c deluxe room. Rooms are large but not well kept. all the doors are in bad shape . there are far better hotels at same price , so keep this as a last option

Room Tip: go for a/c deluxe room

Just back today after a stay in Shirdi. Well stayed at mtdc pilgrims inn which is very close to the baba's temple. We booked an ac room which we realised that it wasnt required as it was really cold. Its always good to book in advance as the rooms were full as it was weekend time. Paid 1500 which was worth staying i wasnt expecting the rooms to be so good and well maintained n secondly the washroom was very clean which is very important. Total 4 people can stay over in d room as there was one single bed placed along with a double bed. Awesome place to stay. The restaurant The Neem maintained by MTDC was good as well. Worth spending and worth staying.
