“Great - Especially The Staff!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 1, 2012

We stayed here the last week in September, it was picked because of the positive reviews and we were not disappointed. We were welcomed by friendly reception staff. We stayed in a one bedroom apartment with lovely views over the sea. The best thing of all were the lovely and charming staff - the bar staff were brilliant Andre what a personality and sense of humour he was priceless! - Alex what a charmer and can he dance!!! he worked tirelessly always with a smile. We stayed half board, lovely breakfast served by the pool and evening meal served in the Oliva Restaurant the food was lovely, great service even when busy, Frosa and Sophia were excellent. The pool area was lovely, with beds always available. The local villages were lovely with lots of traditional greek tavernas, and small shops. We will definitely be back!!!

Our visit was in mid September 2012
Its hillside location ensures great views from balcony, pool and restaurant but the steps down to reception and the pool area are not for the faint-hearted !! Reception is open 24/7 and staff are helpful and friendly.
Our one bed apartment was very clean but a bit basic. There was adequate hanging space for clothes but only 4 small drawers which meant some clothes being left in suitcases. A sofa or easy chairs in the lounge instead of the spare single bed would improve seating comfort and if intending to self cater be aware that there is only a small 2-ring electric hob - no oven, microwave or even toaster.
Our balcony was south facing which meant almost constant sun and great views over both pool and sea. Air conditioning was a must and is a chargeable extra (7 euros a day). Wifi was effective and free.
Despite lack of cooking facilities don’t be tempted to book B&B or half board. The hotel’s Oliva restaurant is very good but so are many others within a few minutes walk and it was good to have the choice. There are many traditional restaurants offering good value meals, an excellent Chinese and - for a special dining experience - don’t miss the Galini restaurant.
The main town is 15 minutes walk and the choice of restaurants, shops and other facilities was surprisingly large. The journey back is uphill all the way so use the complimentary hotel minibus or taxi at 7 euros.
A good value hotel and a few simple upgrades to the apartment would make this a really great stay.

We have just come back from a weeks holiday at the Asterias Village resort.

The Hotel, pool and grounds were very clean, the staff were excellent.
We could not have asked for a better hotel and location.
The views from the hotel were amazing. The location is right between Koutalafaria and Piskapiano , less than a 2 min walk to either. Both beautiful with plenty of restaurants and tavernas
. We were self catering and found this the best option for us. Small supermarkets near by. We had breakfast out a few times and lunch on balcony every day. Prices very good everywhere. Will be back as soon as I can.

Room Tip: we stayed in room 15, perfect. on the first floor with stunning views.

Stayed at Asterias on a two week self catering holiday. Lovely place with friendly staff and lots of activities for children. We went early September so wasn't too busy, perfect for us! Only downfall is the real poor beach but the free swimming pools near by compensated for it.

Loved it and would go back.

Room Tip: Some rooms are very small so ask for a big one upfront.

Staff here are the friendliest, most genuine you will find. The resort is so well maintained. Food is excellent and very Greek. If you want to spend a week by the pool and visit the very local villages, then look no further. Very relaxing time was had by us all (parents and 2 teenage daughters).
The local villages have bars and restaurants, all within walking distance of Asterias. Would not bother wasting your time by visiting main resort of Chersonisos.....very tacky.
Mythos lager .... WOW!!!! So nice and so cheap in the resort.

In summary if you want a lazy indulgent time with no grief, dont mind staying in one place and like the sun....then this is the place for you.

Don't go if you want loads of variety, loud night life and a seaside holiday.

It more than suited us and we have no complaints ....days by the pool reading, bring it on!!!!

Our thanks to all the wonderful staff.

Spent an absolute fabulous vacation at Asterias village travelling as a family with a 2 1/2 year old child. Its a small family run hotel with great staff. We stayed in a 2-room apartment with balcony and had a lovely view towards the sea (beach 1.5km away). The hotel is situated on a hillside between two small villages away from the tourist buzz of Chersonisos, nice an quiet. Supermarket right opposite from hotel, which was very handy for water etc.
Rooms are very nice and modern, cleaned every day except Sunday. Airco/safe has to be paid extra (7/3 EUR respectively). Only minus for us, the beds were too soft for our taste. Free Wifi is available in the rooms.
We stayed half board, breakfast buffet in the morning available at the nice poolbar area with a good choice of food. Dinner is served at the restaurant (Oliva) belonging to the hotel. Menu contains a lot of popular Greek dishes which are very delicious. Thanks to the most friendliest and speedy staff Alex, Sophie and Rosa every meal breakfast or dinner was a highlight. Very kids friendly place also. All facilities are very clean, there is a big pool and separate kiddie pool as well as a playground. Once or twice a week there is an evening programme like live (Greek) music or dance. Really liked the atmosphere there. We'll be back. Thanks!
