5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 28, 2013

We have just returned from this beautiful hotel, visiting as a family with two teenage daughters, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay here, and would definitely recommend it, very relaxing, in a lovely setting, George, the owner his family and team do everything to make you feel so welcome. BBQ night was a really good way of meeting the other guests, some really good places to eat in koutouloufari, we enjoyed oniros the food and atmosphere were fab, would not hesitate to book this hotel again.

My daughter and I have just returned from a lovely relaxing week at Creta Blue hotel. This was our second visit and we look forward to going back as soon as we can. Thanks to George and his family and team who work so hard to make you feel really welcome, it's like staying with friends. The setting of the hotel is so peaceful and you feel yourself relax as soon as you arrive. We love the infinity pool, you swim towards the ocean as you cross towards the bay - lovely.

One of the friendliest and most attentive hotels we have ever stayed in. George was one of the most kind and courteous managers - nothing was too much trouble for him, he was fantastic. The two girls who served breakfast each morning Vickie and Lavinia started our day with big smiles and happy chatter-never long faces even though they were very busy. Our suite was lovely, big rooms and lovely furnished. We nearly didn't write a review, we wanted to keep this hotel a secret but our conscious got the better of us. Creta Blue certainly deserves to be full each and every season.

We stayed here in September last year and loved it that much we came back for a second visit for 2 weeks this time
If you want a very relaxing holiday this is definetely the place you need to book
Some of the rooms are up a very steep hill but luckily as we had been before George looked after us and got us a room close to the restaurant and bar !
George and his family and staff always make you feel welcome. We ate in the hotel a lot as the food is very good. Our favourites were feta cheese cooked in the oven, kebab Pitta. The seafood pasta was also to die for
We also ate in the local village which was also very good but if you want a relaxing romantic setting then the evening at Creta Blue is the place to be and the carafes of the house wine are 13euros and tastes lovely
A lot of people Complained about the breakfast but for us it was great and you can eat as late as 11am which is good for us as we like a lie in
The rooms are clean and nicely decorated although the bathrooms could be a little bigger
We will definetely be back again, hopefully in September. It is a great find and one that you don't easily forget
Thanks again George and we will see you soon

Spent 10 days at the Creta Blue with my Wife and friends and had a fantastic time. The room's were lovely, very clean and modern. George the Hotel Manager was so attentive that we felt like one of the family, his parents, wife and beautiful daughter were a pleasure to be around.
We tried most of the beautiful restaurants in Koutalafari but have to say that George's mum Helen was by far the best cook in the area!

Would highly recomend for any couples looking for a relaxing break in a beautiful part of Crete.

Already thinking of when we should return!

Room Tip: Some rooms are up a very steep hill so poolside is recomended for anyone not wanting a challenge eac...

First would like to say thank you to George, Vangelis, Helen and the gang for being so hospitable from the minute we arrived to the moment we left , nothing was to much trouble and especially making my Wifes birthday special .. The hotel is set in a stunning location bit of a trek up the hill but was well worth it for the great views ,, the sunrise at 6.10 am was amazing and definatley worth getting up for . The room was basic and the bathroom door could probably do with being outward opening as room was a bit tight in there but that said it was clean tidy and nice and cool.. The food was lovely and the onion pie was a firm favourite with us .
Koutouloufari is a stunning little village with a great traditional feel with more bars and restaurants than you first think .. we Enjoyed Oniros .. Out and about we hired a motorbike for a few days which was great , Sissi port is lovely
Once Again thank you for a great week at your hotel would totally recommend you to all my friends cheers Glenn and Ashley 528

Thoroughly enjoyed our stayed, at first I was a little disappointed with the room because I felt it was a little basic, but it was clean and that's the most important thing, and in fairness we only paid 62 Euro a night for our room so I shouldn't have expected the same as a larger chain, you do get what you pay for. The hotel setting is beautiful along with the pool area.

We were there over the hotels 10 year anniversary and was welcomed even though were were first timers! Most of the guests were returning, some 6/7 times.
The steep hill wasn't an issue for us although in the heat was tough.

For me personally the things that let the hotel down / my stay were as follows
- Breakfast - again this isn't the hotels fault but I have a dairy intolerance which I informed them of on the first day but wasn't offered anything different for breakfast so I couldn't have the eggs or yogurt and had only bread and fruit for 2 weeks. I did request English tea on my first day and even though apparently out of stock George went out of his way to find me some for the rest of the holiday which I really appreciated.
- The Tv - perhaps not important to some but I like to watch the news while Im getting ready, this is the first hotel I've ever stayed in that doesn't have any English channels and had a old style 'box' tv with a tiny screen. I didn't mind not having a massive LCD tv but of all the channels only 2 worked and both were Greek!
- The cleaners - I felt at times their work was a little sloppy, on several occasions empty bottles were left round the bath / on the sink. They were clearly empty and on one occasion when the cleaners were in the room when we got back we were told to put our rubbish in the bin! We'd only left a empty bottle and crisp packet on the side!

The main thing for me is you could tell the owner was extemly proud of his hotel, quite rightly, but I felt extremly aqward raising any issues as I felt it was taken as a personal insult

The town is lovely and we ate very well, we only ate at the hotel one night and the food was nice and priced the same as in town.

I did enjoy my stay and would happily recommend the hotel, however you do slightly foreight the luxury and 'extras' of a big hotel for this cosy / family run atmopshere.

Tip - Pre pay for the Taxi via George! Its a set 40 Euros and means they'll be there waiting for you on arrivial rather than queuing for a taxi!
