Majestic roof-tiled bungalows with intricate woodcarvings and earthy hues amaze you but perhaps its most jaw-dropping was a large arched doorway in its lobby that gave us an immediate view of the lake landscape that constituted the resort. Lakesong is a true Eden on Earth-landscaped gardens interlocked with the glittering pool over which colorful dragonflies flitted and ducks quacked. Truly, the aesthetic quality of the place is so great that you will find yourself constantly posing for photographs.
We resided in two rooms in a Punnamada Cottage- cleanliness and décor of the room was brilliant! Although they were located at quite a distance from the resort’s Ootpura Restaurant. However, the cuisine was excellent be it Keralite or North Indian: particularly their seafood dishes. The servers were polite, English-speaking, informative and impressively helpful!
A very good feature of our short stay at Lakesong, was the complimentary lake cruise- very refreshing indeed! And the Ayurvedic luxury is a must to indulge in, while you’re at Lakesong. However, I found it rather unfair that the Wi-Fi was not complimentary. Another complimentary facility at Lakesong was the country canoe that was docked at the arched doorway in the lobby for a ride in the lake within the resort. However, it is left for the guests to fend for themselves and row it, without a boatman or a life jacket.
Other than this, the luxury at Lakesong was truly enlivening, although we had a brief stay.
Try to book rooms closer to the restaurant, else you have to walk quite a bit to have meals!
