“Well recommended family run restaurant with very good food and service.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 9, 2011

Ravi is a charming family run restaurant which serves very good food and generous portions. The outside walled garden is intimate without being claustrophobic. We had a delightful three course dinner for 72€ for two plus a very good bottle of red for 40€ which was at the upper end of the wine list. We asked for a taxi to take us back to our hotel but there was a long delay so one of the daughters took us back in her car. That is the true mark of a family run business who care for their customers.

“we love this place”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 18, 2011

situated about 150 yards from the main square in maussane towards paradou and almost diagonally opposite la mairie.

the restaurant has been owned and run by the same family since 1964, and if you go there, you'll easily understand why it has withstood the test of time ...... it's not cheap by any means at € 70/80 a head, but that does not mean it isn't good value, and certainly you'll have to book.

in the summer, all seating is in the small, enclosed and romantic garden - except when it suddenly rains, and everyone makes a dash to get under cover!

the menu du jour and the carte are actually no different in content, but if you're going to have 3 courses, then the menu carries a discount ...... there are some reasonably priced wines as well as stratospheric, though i confess i was underwhelmed by the recommended 2003 red (€ 48.00) from mme hauvette (highly regarded locally), but which, though very drinkable and soft, had no finish.

between us, we had baby artichokes violets + a salad of sea bream (daurade), followed by rabbit (for me!) and boeuf daube (meltingly divine) with macaroni cheese ...... this latter sounds totally naff, but trust me, it's truly unctuous and hopeless for anyone who wants to be a twig! .... to round it all off, i had the nougat glace, while beloved had creme caramel (to die for!).

the family (= staff) are charming

don't miss this one if you can help it

“the best food, abience and service, bar none!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 28, 2011

My Mother and I stopped in for lunch on a Monday, 3rd of January and first impression was wow. The ambiance was cozy and with a pure Provencal feel. The food was incredible. The best meal that my family had during our visit over the holiday in St. Remy. The service was attentive and friendly. We were going to go to Le Bistro du Paradou but was advised by the manager at La Cabro d'Or to go to La Place Bistro in Maussane another sister restaurant to the famous L'Oustaire deBaumaniere. So glad we decided to go to Ou Ravi Prouvencau instead. If you want an amazing meal with incredible service go to Ou Ravi.
