“An amazing place”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 24, 2013

We chose this hotel based on previous reviews on tripadvisor. We couldn't agree more with all the praise this place has deservedly received. We have traveled extensively, and stayed in a great many places, but our stay here was a singular experience. We stayed at this beautiful chateau for three nights, and had two dinners and three breakfasts. The rooms are very clean, and beautifully decorated. The chateau is located in a gorgeous small town, and is surrounded by gardens, and our room overlooked the park, with wonderful views. The food was absolutely gourmet, with astonishing attention to detail. Though my wife has quite complex food restrictions, our hosts did their utmost to cater to her special dietary requirements, while still producing delicious meals. The owner and his wife are a lovely couple who made every effort to make our stay a memorable experience, advising on local activities and generally being extraordinarily helpful. We had an amazing vacation, and would particularly like to mention the great hospitality, amazing service, and delicious food. We are already planning our next trip back here.

Room Tip: Ask for a room overlooking the park

Our first time at Le Clos. A wonderful welcome by Eric, Odile and the team. We were upgraded to a top floor suite - a lovely room, beautifully finished. Excellent food at dinner and breakfast. All quite expensive but we couldn't have been looked after with greater attention. A most enjoyable experience.

Room Tip: I can't imagine a poor room in thei Hostellerie.

A wonderfully charming property! Perfect in every detail, immaculately kept.
Delicious dinner. Make sure you have the beef as the chef would like you to have it!!!! You will not be disappointed!
Breakfast also delcious, fab coffee. Every mouthful organically grown, even the coffee!
Fast, free internet!
Hospitality above and beyond the call of duty! We booked for a Monday stay. Our host Eric never mentioned that they are not open on Mondays. On account of unforseen circumstances we arrived after 9pm. He kept his entire staff back awaiting our arrival!
A big tyhank you to Eric and his team! Next time we hope to meet Odile as well.

Room Tip: Ask for a corner room, you'll have a panoramic view

My husband and I just got back from two nights at Le Clos. It was our first time in a Relais & Chateaux establishment and we could not have been more impressed with the service, the food, the attentiveness and the overall calm we experienced this past weekend.

The gourmet dinners located in Le Clos's gorgeous dining room were absolutely fabulous and reflected the local and seasonal produce available in Normandy in May.

Not only was the staff incredibly discrete, but they were also always there at a moment's notice whether it was bringing us an amuse-bouche in our room while we enjoyed a bottle of champagne, to suggesting interesting excursions in the area (a chocolatier, a Calvados distillery and a tour of a local monument) to help us better discover the region.

My husband and I will always remember this weekend and it is in part thanks to the wonderful time we spent at Le Clos.

Merci beaucoup!

What can we say about this wonderful charming place. We have just booked our next visit and have stayed there many times before. We can honestly say it gets better every time and your hosts Eric and Odile are both warm, welcoming and delightful.
The rooms are varied and fantastic with great charm and grace. The service is excellent and the team welcoming.
What can we say about the food from the organic breakfast and home made yogurts to dinner which is an experience not to be missed. We have stayed all over the world and yet this is the place we are always eager to get back to both to stay and eat!!
If you want a place to break your journey, stay for a week to explore this is an experience you won't forget. Eric and Odile must work endlessly to achieve the standards they do. We can't wait to get back !!!

Le Clos is not just an hotel, it is an experience. From the moment we arrived we had the feeling that we were being welcomed into the Brial's home. We were given a tour of the available rooms so that we could choose and throughout the week every effort was made to meet our needs and comfort. Dinner and breakfast are both a treat, the food is excellent - accompanied by friendly and efficient service in an elegant, typically French dining room looking out onto the extensive parkland. The warm hospitality is also extended to 'nice' dogs - our Sadie met the Brial's Tina on a walk through the park. There are plans for an extension to include a large conservatory with soft sofas and casual dining. This will surely lift the rating to 'excellent'!

Room Tip: We had a corner suite, south and west facing. This was a wonderful, warm and bright room, even in t...
