We arrived half an hour before opening, not having booked (at the time of writing, bookings could only be made in person, not over the phone), but were shown to the best table with views across the vineyard looking towards distant Siena. Our waitress was very friendly and helpful and we had time to browse the menu accompanied by a good bottle of wine.
Our food was very good: melon & prosciutto & gnocchi with gorgonzola & rocket, followed by mushroom risotto & chicken in white wine sauce with spinach soufflé. No room for dessert but we had espressos - the tiniest amount we've ever seen. I can't remember the cost but it was very reasonable.
