Having driven past the exit for the Ginger factory over the years, we thought it was about time to take the turn off and see what it was all about. Plenty of parking available (although not a lot of shade for the car), the shop at the entrance is a fantastic way to start or end the ginger journey. The different tours run during the day every 30 minutes or hour, depending on your tour of choice. We chose to start (and end) with the train tour. Whilst information was provided about the history of the area and the reasons for growing ginger, I don't believe the train did this attraction justice. After the train ride, we decided not to take any of the other tours, but I'm sure the factory tour would have been well worth it. The stroll around ginger town was quirky, and we made a few purchases at the shop. I noticed they had annual passes, I'm not sure these would be worth it as the train ride is only 15 minutes long and kids may get bored, hopefully the "overboard" ride is a bit more enticing.
