“After dinner, just rocking chair and Benny More”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 1, 2014

Whoever travels all the way to Baracoa should already have decent experience and knowledge about Cuban cuisine and service. Eating on the streets of this amazing city is about something else that just expecting 5* quality service. Its about new experience and getting to know local dishes. Baracoa is famous for its chocolate factory, cacao beans, coconut milk and oil but more importantly Its famous for its sea food like swordfish, shark or dorado served with coconut milk. All of this you can enjoy in centraly situated paladar (private restaurant) with family atmosphere. Plus they make really good coctails and you can be sure that when it comes to dezzert time, your chocolate ice cream is definately local made from Baracoa cacao beans. Now, do you really have a reason to rush when you are in such a beautiful place like Baracoa?

“Better stay away”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed November 16, 2013

We ate in some bad restaurant in Cuba, but this was one of the poorest...
Sadly arrived late to Baracoa so missed dinner at the casa (which on day after appeared as delicuous,,,) so we went to eat in the restaurant near by.
Took long time to get our food which was fat away from tasty...Got stomach ache the day after :(
Better eat in casa & if you have on choice pick other place.

“Superb fish dishes”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 16, 2013

A la carte, varied menu. Extremely good value.

Tried the shark and the pork. Both delicious, freshly cooked.

Outside eating on verandah watching the world go by.

Prompt service despite all tables being full. Complimentary rum on second visit.

Very friendly waiters in this paladar.

The prices are very cheap for the quality of food you are served.

Well woth a visit.

“Just Fine”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed March 15, 2013

La Colonial, if one takes the guide books as gospel, would be the best in town. It is not. It is fine. It is clean, busy and predictable. The food is adequate. The service is pleasant enough. It is not special in any way. It is just fine.

“Not as exciting as others”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed March 13, 2013

I think this place runs on its reputation in The Lonely Planet.
The food was average, waiting staff average andI spent the whole evening looking up the street to the restaurant with the live music and laughter. (La Casona)

It needs to step up its pace a bit
