“Surprise”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 17, 2012

This hotel is a surprise. You would never have guest that you could find a hotel of this standerd in the area where it is build.
A very modern, safe ,clean, perfect place to stay and very much money well spent. It is easy to find a taxi to take you where ever you wish to go and the staff is very friendly and helpfull.
Breakfast is wonderfull .I will not recommend that you walk specialy at night.
The rooms are nice,a little small, but if you only are going to stay for one or two nights,it is perfect.

Room Tip: Room with mountain view

rooms very modern, concierge services were so awesome i.e. i checked out of hotel and luggage was still at holding room awating departure time. My shuttle arrived whilst i was shopping in the factory shops, i was called by concierge to determine my distance and when will i be back at hotel for pick-up! the location is central to the University of Cape Town and a few minutes drive to Laggon Beach, Canal Walk and Waterfront. the breakfast restaurant (serving area) is a bit small and gets overcroweded, problematic if you are on a busienss trip and in a hurry.the experience was 5 star luxury.

I stayed here on a conference for 6 nights.

Things I liked:
- staff very friendly and helpful
- breakfast was great and the "egg man" was efficient and humorous even under enormous pressure
- rooms were spacious and comfortable
- blackout curtains
- pillows were good and beds were very comfortable
- bathrooms were clean and modern
- hotel decor and entrance, with shops etc. is modern and stylish
- the concierge is fabulous!
- food was good - not too heavy but satisfying

Things that need improving:
- internet, internet, internet - it was up and down the whole time so I kept getting kicked out of sites and would have to log in again - highly annoying.
- internet (again) - my free 48MB per day was used up unreasonably fast - I am sure that I wasn't given the entire amount. When I purchased more that seems to last a very long time by comparison
- no shower cap
- very perfumed (and an odd scent) body lotion
- body wash in shower was fixed in holder so difficult to press plunger down - I had to take it out of the holder to get some body wash
- view of inner courtyard meant room was VERY cold
- also one felt other people could look into the room as their windows are opposite yours so no privacy
- perfumed spray used on sheets and mattresses, so one got overwhelmed by this sweet scent the whole time
- location not ideal as need taxi to get anywhere

So I enjoyed it but not sure I would pay that amount to stay there as I have been in cheaper places with same or better facilities.

Room Tip: Don't take a room looking into the courtyard.

Stayed for 5 nights. Loved the shuttle service to V and A. Concierge very helpful in arranging other excursions too. Reception staff helpful. Restaurant food and wine and service were all excellent. Hotel and room was trendy - modern color scheme, etc. Great walk-in shower: BUT there was very little space in the bathroom for 'stuff' - ie need more counter or shelf space.
Free WiFi was good. My room needed a few repairs- i.e. the safety latch on the door, and there was no fridge where there should have been one.
Even so, I would stay there again.

Stayed for 5 nights at this hotel and it was great. The staff was amazing from the reception staff, the house keeping, maintance staff, restaurant and bar as well as the shuttle drivers. We ate in restaurant on two occasions and the food was amazing. The swimming pool was disappointingly small but still was good for refreshing. We loved the young, urban concept of this hotel. Let the distance from the city centre not discourage you, the shuttle service provided by the hotel makes up for it. One point though, they need to improve on the frequency, for example if you miss the 15:30 shuttle back from Waterfront then you have to wait until 19:30 or take a taxi back!! Either than that it was a great stay.

I was very fortunate to be upgraded to one of the 'loft' apartments on the 5th floor. The 2-level room was very impressive. Great bathroom, kitchenette, bed. Really quite 5 star. Only problem was the WiFi which didn't work on the 2nd level of the apartment.

Breakfast here was very nice also.

This is a really cool place to stay.

We stayed for 6 nights during our visit in february this year. The rooms are modern and resourceful. The hotel has a good coffeeshop and a thoughtful mini-super market. There is ample parking space and hotel arranges for regular pick up and drops to the V&A water front which is very useful. Our stay at the hotel was smooth, but we found the reception staff not that approachable. That was the only lacunae..
