“Christmas at Immelmokit”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 7, 2014

we stayed at the cabins over Christmas and it was everything we could have wished for. We had a cabin to sleep 6-8 but there were only 4 of us.However,If there had have been 8 people I agree dinner times would have been cramped.
The cabin had almost everything you could have wished for - the kitchen was well stocked with equipment and utensils and the drying cupboard was brilliant. I want one in my house! The lack of a DVD player is a miss but we took our portable one and a scart and hooked it up to the TV. Having said that there are lots of English speaking channels on the TV.
We used the washing machine in the laundry shed a few times which meant you didn't have to take too many clothes and gave more room for Christmas presents!
The cabin was warm & cosy and it was lovely to have a little outside space to play in!

Arrival, transfer & cabins all fantastic. (A bonus would have been a DVD player for the very cold day). Levi is very beautiful, cabins are very quiet (10-15 minutes walk from town) and we loved it. The skidoo's and the reindeer safari were excellent and arranged by Inghams. Our rep Emily was great, really helpful when we had to swap and change arrangements for a trip. The only let down was not enough time at time at Santa Park which was very disappointing. Dreaded the final party night and even though we were the last table to the buffet it was lovely. Inghams did everything they could when our flight arrived in another country and eventually the plane took off 31 hours late but we were well looked after.

It is not my first to the lovely Levi. Its such a magical place and I always stay in the Immelmokit cabins. The cabins are located in the forest by a big lake called Immelyarvi (something like that). Its a brilliant place to see the northern light as away from the ski slopes and the lights of Levi. Its a little walk into Levi from Immel however its a good price to pay for a beautiful log cabin with log burning fire. I went at Christmas time and for a fee they will provide a Christmas tree, I had to contact them directly however it was there waiting for you as you arrive.

I would recommend anyone to stay here as long as you don't mind self catering. This cabin beats any hotel in my opinion.

We have just returned from a weeks holiday in Levi with Inghams staying in the Immelmokit cabins.
Wow
Having read trip advisor before booking and then again before our holiday we were slightly apprehensive that the trip would not live up to our expectations. How wrong we were. The whole trip was just amazing.

Flying over Lapland initially it was hard to see where we might be able to downhill ski but from the airport at Kitilla you could see a few hills!!!!!
A 15 minute transfer and simple check in procedures meant we were in our cabin in less than an hour after landing and that included our luggage being last off the plane.

The cabins were a good 10 minute walk from the resort centre but this meant they were quiet and in amongst the trees making the outlook pretty.
We organised leaving our skis and boots at Zero point ( ski rental at the bottom of the slope) which made walking too and fro every day much easier.( not a cheap option but worth the money)

The cabins were clean, warm and spacious as we had space for 8 and we are a family of 4. Worth paying a little extra for under occupancy.
Fun to have a private sauna.
Steep staircase might put some people off.
We used the log burner in the evenings. Easy to light and provided extra warmth not really needed at the end of the season. The temperature did fall to -25 one night.

The kitchen was narrow but well equipped.
We took a few dried foods with us including packet mixes which made catering easier.
The local supermarket was well stocked and more expensive than the uk but not prohibitive.

The beds are comfortable but all with single quilts.
Pillows are not the same as at home but adequate. We had extras as we had four empty beds.
Towels are large, clean and plenty of them.

We ate out one evening enjoying the local reindeer and snails. ( Ravintola Myllyn Aija located behind the tourist information centre)
Well worth a visit with nice chatty welcoming staff.

We were surprised to find an off licence where wine was reasonably priced. Alcohol in restaurants and on the slopes was very expensive.
Taking wine boxes with us kept the prices down.

The skiing was much better than we expected.
Plenty of choice.
Despite being away during school holidays we were amazed at how empty the slopes were.
We were often heard saying where is everyone.
T bar lifts are hard work but much easier than walking back up the hills.
We didn't once queue for more than a couple of minutes.
We could have skied until 730 most evenings but we decided we were on a winter holiday which included some skiing.

Our one regret was that we missed the northern lights.
They were about but we were not in the right place at the right time.
Very hard to judge or find out about.
Never mind we will have to go back again.

We would have loved to see the trees covered in layers of snow but skiing in warmer conditions was lovely.

The cost of living is high so Finland is not a cheap option. We would say it was certainly worth it.

Thank you Inghams and Levi

This was our second time to Levi with Inghams. The cabin was clean and warm. The best thing about these cabins is the location, being a slight walk out of Levi and near the frozen lake there is a good chance of seeing the Northern Lights.

The kitchen area was quite small but well equipped ( dishwasher, microwave, coffee maker, toaster). The lounge area has a log fire and tv and the sauna was great. The only downside really is that there is no Wifi but not a huge problem as many of the hotels have it. We were a bit worried that there was no washing machine but there is a machine on site and we used it a few times with no problems.

We did the skiing and snowmobile safari (great fun). We would definitely go back to Levi for another holiday and would probably stay at Immelmokit again. It is really a winter wonderland. Best places to eat (family) were the Panoramic Hotel for a buffet lunch and the restaurant by the Levi Tourist information.

5 mins walk from K5 hotel super warm cabins with underfloor heating and sauna. Clean well equipped and cozy made our honeymoon truly magical! Supermarket in town pays out coupons if you recycle cans and bottles. Cabins have open fires with a wood shed nearby and a never ending supply of logs
