“Serene, Fun & Beautiful”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 23, 2014

This property was an absolute delight in every way. It was the perfect size-- intimate with only 35 rooms (approx) and big enough that we didn't feel like we were under a magnifying glass at a B&B. The staff was incredibly helpful and sweet. The wine cellar is serious and the sommeliers were incredibly knowledgeable. The food was amazing. The grounds were beautiful and low key. We loved our cottage and plunge pool- Mele. IT had a gorgeous view and was incredibly private. Overall, I can't recommend this place enough.

Only downside for some people could be the stairs-- there are a lot of them. It didn't bother me/my husband/the friends we met. But i could see some people struggling with the long walk to the beach.

Room Tip: Mele was great. I highly recommend a plunge pool. It's a splurge but worth it.

Hello travelani,

We are very grateful for your review. Glad you had fun and enjoyed everything - including our wine cellar (we have just launched a 5 course wine paired dinner menu which we serve in our underground 'Ti Kave' wine cellar as well)!

There are alot of stairs down to (and therefore back up from) the beach; 166 to the main restaurant in fact. We do try and let everybody know, on places such as Tripadvisor and on our website (new stunning mobile friendly version coming soon)!

Hope to see you soon. FYI: We have 33 rooms :-)

Kind regards,

Chris & Sarah

My husband and I have just returned from getting married at Ti Kaye and I have to say we could not have chosen anywhere more perfect. Before we even arrived we were so relaxed about it, all due to Lita and her seamless and friendly organisation skills. All the formalities were arranged and a 10 minute conversation whilst we were there sorted the finer details such as flowers and location. We were given Nich room which was absolutely beautiful, totally secluded with stunning views and a real sun trap. We can only describe this as barefoot luxury. The bed was huge and so comfortable, everything we needed was right there in the room, even Twinings tea! We loved showering outdoors with a view of the ocean and the plunge pool was a welcome relief at the end of a hot day. As for our wedding, it could not have been more perfect. Lita was brilliant, as was Ray from Karay Media, who took some amazing photographers and was so tuned into us as a couple. We married on a Wednesday which was also the night when they have a Creole buffet and live band. They made it all about us, announcing us at the managers cocktail party and even arranging for the band to sing our favourite song for a first dance. Finished off by the beautiful decoration of our room for our wedding night. We will never, ever forget it and you have our grateful thanks. We very much hope to return to celebrate at least 1 anniversary.
Picking up on other review points, yes the steps to the beach are tough on the way back up but it's not an issue. Yes there are lizards and treefrogs that do visit your room but we actually loved this and they were very discreet. To be honest it is part of the charm and you can't have the beautiful surroundings without the wildlife. The food was consistently excellent, the steaks are to die for. And the staff are lovely. Big shout out to Nadine, such a lovely lady, and Terry on the beach who couldn't do enough for us.The beach vendors were a bit bothersome on occasion but they have to make a living. And yes the hotel is a long way from anywhere but this is the sort of place you go to get away from it all. So if you want somewhere accessible with nightlife perhaps look elsewhere. But if you want seclusion, peace and quiet and some real together time, then this is the place for you.

Room Tip: Choose a room at the front for uninterrupted views.

Hello Heidi J (and new husband),

CONGRATULATIONS! Happy to read that Lita (and the rest of our 'Ti Kaye family') made everything relaxing and seamless (and hopefully fun)? Thanks for choosing to have your special day with us. Thanks also for taking the time to write and post your review (and for remembering and mentioning so many names)!

We appreciate your summary "if you want somewhere accessible with nightlife, perhaps look elsewhere". Ti Kaye is all about the romance and relaxation with nature...

We look forward to seeing you both on your anniversary.

Kind regards,

Chris & Sarah (and Lita, Nadine, Terry - plus Ray, your wedding photographer - and all of us)!

Ti Kaye is a beautiful, elegant resort. There are some things to keep in mind - as all the reviews and the hotel's own website note, there are 160+ stairs down to the beach (which means that many going back up at the end of the day), and the road in to the resort is VERY rough. As long as you keep that in mind, this place is a piece of paradise. The beach is beautiful with the best snorkeling, in my opinion. The cottage was beautiful, the view breathtaking, and who would not enjoy showering outdoors beneath the stars??? I would definitely stay here again. An amazing place to get away from it all.

Room Tip: Le Cottage is the way to go (no shared walls). I didn't see the need for the private plunge poo...

Hello Jen R,

Thank you very much for your generous review. Not sure if you were aware but your subject title is actually part of our tag line; 'Natural Elegance, Understated Sophistication' - so it's nice to see that :-)

Happy you enjoyed everything, and even happier to read that you would "definitely stay here again".

We hope you both do return.

Kind regards.

My husband and I just spent 8 days there for our honeymoon. Absolutely beautiful resort with great staff - always so friendly! The food was excellent, snorkeling right off the beach was better than when we went to the Pitons, and our own villa gave us a lot of privacy. Rest and relaxation was key for us and Ti Kaye delivered! We did go on a few adventures - snorkeling at the Pitons and the sunset cruise and those were excellent. We'll be coming back!

Room Tip: We had an oceanview room without a private plunge pool and it was still wonderful! There's a bea...

Ti Kaye is glorious. The flower gardens, the views, the dining room - all lovely. Chef Bill is a master and his wife is the best hostess we have ever had.
We loved the porch on our room and the garden shower, complete with a "sitting dove". Our biggest disappointment was that the babies didn't hatch while we were there. The bathroom could have used a bit of touching up but the bed was perfect, and the room service, like all of the other services offered, was consistently wonderful. The beach is a long way down (220 steps) and back up. That made us feel better about all the eating we did. We took one day trip to gardens and the volcano (both interesting) and we did a bit of snorkeling, but mostly we just "vegged" and loved it.

Room Tip: Ask for one with a dipping pool.

Hello Zosters,

Glad you enjoyed 'vegging' - as I say to many guests, we do 'relaxing' very well here at Ti Kaye. Chef Bill and his wife Ghislaine appreciate being mentioned, and we are all happy that you had a great stay.

With regards to the bathrooms, we refurbished our Le Cottage with Pool rooms at the end of last year (as well as putting new linen in the Le Cottage rooms), and in Q2 are about to start on a few upgrades in the Ocean View Rooms ... providing I don't have to spend too much on patching the public road that is :-)

Kind regards,

Property was beautiful! Amazing and super friendly staff...best part of Ti Kaye other than the beautiful, scenic property. Rooms are great (with outdoor yet private showers which we loved!) We had a villa with a plunge pool and hammock...definitely recommend if you can swing it.
Overall, amazing experience!

Room Tip: Book one of the villas with plunge pool!

This was our first visit, and plan on returning, it really is that good. Location, location, location! Many resorts in the area do not have direct beach access, and you must take a daily shuttle. This is key, due to the winding roads, getting from place to place usually takes some time. Not only does Ti Kaye have beach access, it is a lovely secluded beach, (unless several Cruise ships are in port, then everything on the island is overrun.) There is very good snorkeling right there and free kayaks (for guests) to explore the area. This means you can go on half day excursions and still hit the beach whenever you want. The beach restaurant and bar are also fantastic. The restaurant is excellent, we ate there almost every night, we had planned on going to several restaurants in town, but the remoteness made that difficult. No complaints, the menu changes nightly and there is a fish fry one night and a Creole buffet another. Lots of variety. The wine cellar is to die for, and the sommelier Cleus is absolutely brilliant. One of the definite highlights of our trip was the wine tasting in the beautiful wine cellar with Cleus ( a level 3, soon to be level 4, sommelier). His tour spans the globe and is not pretentious or elitist, if you've ever enjoyed a glass, or are a complete connesiur, he has something for everyone. We hit the spa for massages twice, and I can honestly say they were the two best massages in my life. The masseuse found my problem areas right away and I have not felt this loose in my neck for a very long time. The rooms, views, grounds, and staff are all top notch. My only issues would be the road, it really needs to be repaired, we went on a lot of excursions and the trip time is increased by about 20 min. each way, valuable beach time wasted! I do understand that there is some debate on who is responsible for the road maintenance, maybe Ti Kaye should put up a toll road?! Other than that I highly recommend this resort.

Dear mmccoy7,

Delighted to read that you had an "excellent experience" - and even better to note you "plan on returning".

Thanks for your fantastic summary of Ti Kaye, and your detailed comments on our wine tasting session (Dwight also does them). With regards to the road ... we actually only just patched it back in December. As mentioned before, it's not actually 'our' road - but we are unfortunately the ones who patch it. (Sarah and I always discuss where to spend resort money, but in general we'd both rather spend it on things at the resort that will enhance the whole of a guests stay, not fixing a public road that takes 8-10 minutes in and out each time - although we both like your idea of a toll, however I don't think it would go down too well)!

Thanks again for your review. When your neck feels like it's getting a little tight, our therapists at Kai Koko Spa will be waiting for you ...

Kind regards,

Chris & Sarah
