“Viva la Pappa Reale.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 12, 2014

Nice no thrill place. Must try treir "tris di pasta": you can choose 3 types of pastas to be served in the same plate and...must have their fantastic gnocchi called "pappa reale2; they are light, tasty and...good. The meats are all local Tuscan. Try the wild bore or the Chianina. Great beans "all'uccelletto" with Tuscan olive oil. Bruschettas are great and the house wine good. Deserts are ok. Service ok as well as parking.

“Don your cowboots, not for scootin' but for the best meal in Cowboy territory”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 12, 2014

If meat is your saviour then welcome to Italy's cowboy country. This humble eatery is what locals call Texas. the owner certainly belies this description, dressed in blue jeans, plaid shirt, and suspenders.. The walls are covered in sepia-toned photographs of ranch life in the early 1900's
Our meal begins with fava beans and purple baby carciofi, plucked from the garden an hour earlier, served raw with a drizzle of salted olive oil. Simple path to heaven Next comes the signature pappa reale,a pillow-shaped potato pasta resembling an oversized, airy gnocchi, lightly swathed in a tart pork and beef ragu. Yummy says my femme. My taste buds are deconstructing so conversation is at a minimum.
Its followed by a grass- fed Florentine steak, seared on a lava rock. Eggy,almond-dotted biscotti and house- made limoncello signal the end of the show. And that's just for lunch

“Bad food, dirty and expensive”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed September 22, 2013

3 euro cover charge spotted on menu meant we started badly,
This means 6 euros to just sit down. So abandoned plans for a starter, and pasta, meat and wine for a quick plate of pasta in protest. How hard can pasta be? Well .....My italian partner could not eat his pasta in meat sauce which had evidently been reheated from a previous sitting. He also found a hair in it. My ravioli swimming in grease was not the kind lovingly made by hand using fresh ingredients. At least they did not charge us for the pasta with hair sauce but still cost almost 20 euros for water and ravioli alla "pretty horrible". Not the stuff good Italian food is made of and overpriced even without the coperta. Looks good from outside but it isn't a rustic trattoria like it seems. Do yourself and keep driving. ...
