“Incredible.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 8, 2013

I visited La Palagina with some friends in June and absolutely loved it. It's one of the most beautiful places I've ever visited - views of the beautiful mountains and vineyards - and I highly recommend it. The staff was amazing and the hotel director, Erik, was not only extremely pleasant, but also went above and beyond when it came to making sure ALL guests were as happy as they could be.
We did not have the best weather, but that did not matter. We enjoyed a great cooking class with Federico (I think) who was adorable, friendly, patient, and fun! We toured the local wineries and even drove by a couple of Sting's houses (he has many). If you are planning a trip to Italy/Tuscany, you must visit this place. It is amazing and very reasonable.

Room Tip: If you are a family or a decent-sized group (4+) the little villa behind the main hotel is great. I...

I stayed here at the private villa with a group of friends and a wedding party. The views were stunning and the villa itself was so gorgeous. Eric was extremely helpful, friendly and accommodating, he even arranged a special dinner and bachelorette party for the bride with local restaurants in Florence. I can honestly say the chianti wine from this estate was the best wine I tasted in my entire trip throughout Italy! I will absolutely return here.

Villa La Palagina is located 5 mins drive from the villa we are renting. Our group spent a day at La Palagina in a cooking course, which we thought would be a waste of time as it was €100 cheaper than others we had enquired about. On the contrary, it was fabulous. The Hotel Manager was delightful, he greeted us and spent time enquiring whether we were comfortable, suitably cared for, enjoying the course, happy with the service, and on it went. We were only there for a cooking course and he went out of this way to ensure we were well cared for. Unlike the hotel manager we rented our Villa from (La Borghetta).

Frederico was our Chef; he was fantastic; taught us so much more than we all thought we knew, as well as being very patient. It was an extremely hot day (38deg), however, we made Tortellini filled with ricotta, and marjoram picked from the garden; focaccia and vanilla Panna Cota, all hands on. Many in the group were people who keep coming back to La Palagina because of the facilities, but more importantly the atmosphere and friendliness of the management and staff.

The food in the restaurant was excellent and very reasonably priced. Would definitely consider staying here.

Great place to kick back and let nature take over. The villa and location is one of the greatest and most visually stimulating places I have ever visited. Eric and his staff are really into making sure you can find things and places to visit during your stay. Listen to his suggestions as he really knows the area well.. Food and the staff especially Fabio and Luciano really make you feel at home while the new chef prepares meals that are to die for. These meals are 5 star Quality at a fraction of the price. Finally, don' t forget to take your paint brushes with you as the physical setting is truly enchanting.Want a break from urban life, this is the place!

I couldn't of asked for a better way to end my dream trip to Tuscany than to finish at this stunning Villa. Our host Eric greeted our group upon arrival, saw my sister and I personally to our room (which was a suite). We had a pasta and bread making class given by two young chefs Stefano and Marco who were both patient and understanding. There are two large infinity pools, a beautiful patio area with service from the bar and restaurant . They supply bicycles for guest use. And the food!! Whether it was breakfast or dinner you could be sure the chef was pleasing everyone. He even appeared at my side one night when I had order the Balsamic glazed chicken with roasted potatoes to see if I liked what he had done, it was heaven.

Room Tip: Rooms facing the outdoor Patio area have beautiful views of the valley..

This hotel was highly recommended by a local friend living in Florence. My friends and I stayed at the Villa Belvedere (hope I spelled that right) and it was equipped with a full kitchen, jacuzzi, and a beautiful patio area overlooking the property's olive groves. Eric, the property director, made us feel like family. Eric was so knowledgeable and helped guide us through the area's vineyards and local food & crafts. We even had a chance to take a great cooking class with their new chef, Frederico- it was so much fun! The property, the staff, the food- truly unforgettable! I highly recommend!

We had a lovely break in this villa. This truly is a property to rest and relax and absorb the beauty of the local environment. We had the fortune to rest and recover from a 5 week tour of Europe and it proved to be a delightful choice. The villa is beautifully decorated and the swimming pools and sprawling landscape insulated from the outside world were wonderful for true relaxation. The rooms were furnished beautifully and there was ample space to hide away and relax. The area was suitable for bike riding , swimming and fine dining. Delightful
