“Utter Relaxation”

Ramla Bay Resort

May 20, 2008

My boyfriend and I had a lovely, relaxing break at the Ramla Bay Hotel in May this year. Despite the poor weather for the time of year, we were spoilt for choice when it came to activities within the hotel. This is not to say that we were bombarded by an animation team 24 hours a day egging us on to play various games, but more that there was a lovely indoor pool, health spa and boat trips, as well as a nearby bus stop that allowed us to visit other parts of the island.

All of the hotel staff were polite and courteous and made our stay all the more enjoyable.

The food, though good, wasn't as outstanding as I had been expecting from reading various reviews. It was buffet style and obviously mass-produced, although, saying that, there was a lot of choice and it was all tasty.

The only downside of the resort as a whole was the beach. The sand was covered in rubbish and wasn't at all inviting. The pool and the view more than made up for it though - despite being a little chilly!

All in all, I would definitely recommend the Ramla Bay Hotel for a chilled-out rest away from all the hustle and bustle of home.

We exchanged into the Timeshare section of Ramla Bay Hotel.
We had a very large ground floor apartment for 2 of us which was well equipped and very spacious.
Although the summer season had yet to start most of the facilities were available. It was no fault of the hotel's that the seawater in the pool was cool!!
The grounds are extensive and are equipped with what seemed like unlimited chairs, loungers and sun bathing spots that took advantage of shaded areas for those that want them as well as offering thatched gazebos for those who find the sun too hot - or for those who wish to smoke! There is a beach with proper sand and a small open-air theatre
We found everyone there pleasant, helpful and easily approachable. We did not eat in the dining room but we did have bar meals which were excellent and very reasonably priced. The fact that Chas Well's Bombardier was available on draught at a very competitive price too was a bonus.

It would only be fair to point out that this Hotel is a touch isolated. For the able there is a 10 minute ' short cut ' to the nearest bus stop: for the less able taxis or self-drive would be essential. Some teenagers might find it "boring". We found the TV soccer and evening entertainers in the bar far too loud.
Despite this small niggle we would willingly return

We stayed at Ramla Bay for a 4 night short break in March 08. We had the best time ever. We selected the All Inclusive option as we wanted a no hassle break, which is what we got.
THe hotel is absolutely fab, we couldn't fault anything. The food was fine, no complaints there. The lunches at the bar were really nice - pasta, toasted sandwiches, salads etc... THe guys at the bar were lovely Eric and Lido, they couldn't do enough to help you. Lido was mad, my husband said he was like Pa Larkin (Darling Buds of May) he was always jocking around and keeping us amused. When I asked him why he was so chearful when he worked such long hours he said "there's only one today so make the most of it" - how true! THe evening entertainment on Friday is fab, an english lady singer "Ali" who is married to a maltese musiciam "Man", they were excellant, we bought their cd 10 euros and dream of being there again! Our room was superb, we were upgraded to a 3rd floor room and the views over the bay were great. The hotel is ideally located for the ferry to Gozo, a 10 min stroll up the road. Gozo is a good day out we went independantly and got a cab on the island and saw the sights, lovely.
We are definately going back soon.

“Great location for relaxation..........”

Ramla Bay Resort

Apr 16, 2008

We have returned after a weeks holiday in Malta. The Ramla Bay Resort was great!!! we had the most relaxing holidays in years and hope to return. The Resort itself is ideally located with its own little bay and the ferry to GOZO is just 5 minutes away by car. The hotel has its own SPA and beach huts, etc.....ideal to sip a cool beer and enjoy the sea. The sea was a bit too cold to bathe in this part of year.

The closest town is Mellieha, where you could find good restaurants, chinese. Italian, Maltese, etc ....

The only negative point was that the breakfast was boring and had to have the same buffet menu for 7 days strait !!! ...we are sick of bacon and eggs, etc.....

well what a nice week (AL) ill do the good points first.
1,food very,very,very, good
2,the ferry to the gozo island 5 mins away
3,the hotel very clean and maids was at your room every day and plensant
4,staff very nice ,but not to the germans
5,what i loved about this island was the people ,they were fab
the bad points
1 you are out in the sticks but you are next to bus stop which takes you everywhere on the island (3.50euors all day and any bus)
2, ask what you can have on the ai , they dont realy tell what you can have ,you need to ask
3,all ai drinks were fine apart from sprits they were bad

and that it i would go back to this hotel and malta its a wonderfull island and wonderfull people
p s dont do the trip with t,cook to gozo its a rip off 37 euros for the day and you still have to pay for the ferry (4euros) , go your shelf and get a bus when your over there.
