“New rooms in the heart of town”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 5, 2013

Great nights stay in a new room. Position in the centre of town was handy for walking everywhere.
Our room was a twin room up the top, so was quiet and comfortable. Reception staff helpful and friendly.

Room Tip: Our twin room up the top wouldn't be recommended to people with mobility issues as there are qui...

We spent two nights in the hotel at an excellent rate.
On arrrival, reception staff were friendly and helpful. The room was fresh, spacious with a very comfortable bed and the air conditioning an added bonus. The bathroom was large with fluffy towels and a good shower.
We did get a bit of early morning noise from the town square which our room overlooked, but this was avoided on day 2 by closing the window.
We didn't eat in the hotel, but had a few drinks inside and outside on the terrace. The drinks were good value. All the staff we encountered were pleasant, efficient and customer focused. We will certainly return to thie hotel.

Room Tip: Aviod rooms overlooking the otside terrace.

Our first time in a Wetherspoons hotel and if they are all like this we would use them again. We know Beccles well and used this hotel before Wetherspoon revamped it.The room is a good size and well equiped and with bottled waters as well as the usual tea/coffee.The bathroom was excellent with full sized bath and a walk in shower.towels were large and fluffy.
The bar and restaurant was busy and in school holidays full of families but it is a Wetherspoons so don`t expect anything else.Despite it being busy the bar staff served quickly and food came without too much delay.
The only downside is lack of parking.Advice to potential users is to ignore the sign saying parking is for hotel residents. We were told we could not park there despite a space being available. The receptionist and manager told us the sign was being changed. We are going to Beccles again in 2 months and will see if this has been done !

We had the pleasure of staying at this hotel on Sunday 25th August 13.
The quality of the room was superb, the service was excellent and it was exceptional value.

The quality of the furnishings and fitting in the room would not have been out of place at a top hotel (I have had the fortune to stay in some of the best hotels in the country).

The bathroom has large walk-in shower and top quality fittings and lovely large soft white towels.

You may be put off by your own perception of a Wetherspoons pub, however this pub was different from the standard Wetherspoons pub with lovely furniture and décor and very spacious.

The only drawback is there is very limited parking on site so you have to park in a public car park, however there is a drop off zone outside the hotel and the staff will give you advice on where to park your car.

This hotel is really lovely - the rooms are very nicely furnished - blue & grey themes - some of the rooms have real character as they have sloping floors & ceilings

Bathroom is brilliant with a huge walk in shower which works very well & the towels are of the highest standard - very large & luxurious

All in all - a great place to visit

Room Tip: Top floor room away from the bar

Lovely hotel, situated in the centre of Beccles. Our room was well decorated and clean. Prize was really good. The only downhill was the noise that was coming from outside bar which was open till 1am and was full of drunk youngsters. Parking spaces are very limited so be prepared to leave you car in the car park which is £3 per day.

We stayed here on Friday 23rd August and had a lovely time. Our room was on the top floor so a bit hazardous getting up the stairs with luggage if you're not fit able! The room was lovely, really well decorated and a really clean and new bathroom. Price was excellent and the hotel is situated right in the centre of the town. Bar is a typical noisy Weatherspoons but we didn't hear anything in our room. Would recommend!
