“Authentic and excellent!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 27, 2014

Hidden in the hills, nice welcome, quick service and excellent food! We recommend the bistecca alla fiorentina, tender, served on a hot stone so that it remains warm and good! Congratulations to the chef who welcome you as true Italian!

“Tuscan Treasure”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 4, 2014

My fiancée and I, along with another couple received a recommendation from our concierge at our Villa for Nuovo Ranch, a place where the locals like to eat.

Our driver turned off the road onto a dark lane, which wound through the forest. We arrived at the quaint restaurant and were warmly greeted by the host.

To start I ordered a bottle of Brunello do Montalcino Riserva 1995, which was promptly followed by another of the same while enjoying the house made pizza dough, drenched in house olive oil and sea salt. There was no need to eat additional good after the bread, however, we persevered!

Appetizers were served, including traditional smoked cheeses, prosciutto, and salami, all made in house and executed simply, but flavourfully.

For Primi - we ordered asparagus risotto, house made gnocchi and wild boar tagliatelle. All executed traditionally with excellent flavour and texture.

For Secondi - we enjoyed the mixed grill, rabbit and chicken. At the recommendation of the owner we moved to the house red which we enjoyed even more than the Brunello.

When it came time for dessert / the proprietor placed a bottle of dessert wine from Antinori, a bottle of grappa and limoncello on the table to enjoy as we pleased. We enjoyed some tiramisu and I ordered more pecorino cheese to pair with yet another additional bottle of the house red (Rosso).

At the end of the night - the stone fireplace well warm, relaxed and satiated - we went to leave, and the owner have us each a bottle of house red as a thank you.

Total cost - four bottles of wine - four courses and dessert - 160 Euros, half of that for the Brunello.

Exceptional value and a foodie's delight.

Niles...

“Delicious local cuisine at reasonable prices!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 28, 2014

Just up the road from the villa in which we were staying, we were pleasantly surprised at the delicious Tuscan cuisine at this adorable establishment! The inside was cozy and felt like an old hunting lodge with a huge fireplace on one wall and rustic feel. The menus at the restaurant are available in perfect English and our waitress spoke English as well and was very sweet.

We ordered the house wine- delicious and a great value. We ordered the cheese & pear appetizer as well as one of the ravioli dishes with sausage to share (delicious!). For dinner we ordered the Nuovo Ranch Pizza and the mixed meat plate with a side of the fried vegetables- everything was delicious! We intended to order dessert but were so full it wasn't an option.

One of the most reasonably priced meals we ate our entire time in Florence! The hosts brought a bottle of Limoncello to our table for complimentary drinks after dinner which was so thoughtful and a great touch. Overall, highly recommend for delicious local fare in a great environment at reasonable prices- go eat here! :)

“Friendly, welcoming country restaurant”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 19, 2013

We were staying nearby in Cellai and were recommended this wonderful restaurant by our landlady. The head waiter was very welcoming and served chilled Prosecco whilst we were waiting for our dinners. The food was tasty and, as we ordered a variety of dishes, our table of 6 were able to taste many different dishes, all of which were very delicious and served quickly and with friendly waiters. At the end of our meal the head waiter served limoncello and grappa with a flourish to finish off a fantastic dinner. Highly recommended.

“amazing local cuisine”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 24, 2013

The best Bistecca Fiorentina we have ever eaten! We have been in this place few times and all dishes were amazing. You have to try local cheese with pear and honey, tagliata di manzo, rabbit and grilled vegetables.
