“WAY outside of the city”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed March 12, 2011

I stayed at this hotel when I was on a budget friendly tour in June 2010. I knew we would not be staying in the city of Florence because it is very expensive but we were so far outside of the city I had no idea where we were. We had to drive through industrial areas and farmland before we got to the hotel about 1.5 hours after leave the city of Florence. There is no way to get to the city on your own by using public transit. I am not sure if a taxi would even take you but I am sure if they did it would be a small fortune!
The food was ok, not great, and same goes for the rest of the hotel. Nothing special.

Stayed in this hotel as part of our Cosmos Tour of Italy and Greece. Boy, this was not one of my favorites, that's for sure.

First of all, the hotel is in a tiny little town outside Florence called Signa (Seen-ya). The only way to and from the hotel is by train. Fortunately, there is a train station right outside the hotel. If you're in for the adventure of trying to figure out the Trenitalia system at the main rail station in Florence, then you might enjoy it. It's definitely interesting. The area in Signa that the hotel is in is so strange. There must be a nightclub nearby or something. We had a gelato place right outside our room window that got busier and noisier as the night wore on. It seemed to be the busiest place in town.

The hotel itself is very dated, and quiet. Food was alright. Rooms were small, and dark. No balconies, windows didn't fully open. The bathrooms were the smallest we'd ever seen. There was barely a foot between the bathroom counter and the shower door. Good thing we're not bigger people. The beds were just hard and the pillows flat. We weren't comfortable here at all.

My husbasnd and I stayed here with our Cosmos Italy & Greece Tour. The area is very quaint. The hotel is located on a kind of square in a small town. The hotel was right beside the train station which I am sure would be convient if you were using it. We did not have any time to ourselves so we never needed it. The room was small like all rooms in Italy. It was very clean and on the back of the hotel so we had no noise problems. The second night of our stay we were provided dinner here with our tour and the food was fine, nothing special just fine. There are a few restaurants around and an ice cream place.

The location of the hotel is away from the busy part of the city but convenient enough with the station being a few steps away. The room was small but cosy and the bathroom was clean. The walls are a bit thin so noisy neighbours might be an issue. A good place if all you're looking for is a place to rest after touring Florence.

I stayed here for 3 days and was bit disappointed by this hotel. Specifically,

* Rooms and bathrooms are `very' small.
* There is no plug-point in the room sans the one TV is connected to. I had to unplug the TV to charge my laptop and other electronic accessories.
* Middle of the night the horn of one of the cars parked downstairs went bonkers and kept honking till 5:30 am or so. Our request for a new room was turned down.
* Blankets were not so clean.

We got a fairly small room but the bathroom had a decent sink counter space. I find the majority of our hotels in Italy had no or little bathroom sink counterspace for your toiletries compared to north american hotels. There was a strong musty smell in the bathroom as well. The water felt slimy and smelled of bleach after washing our hands or after taking a shower so we did not feel clean at all. I couldn't find any plug ins at all for my blowerdryer so had to use theirs. Our included dinner was a dry porkchop, potatoes, beans, soup and an ice-cream cookie of some sort. The previous night we just walked down the street from the hotel and had pizza at the "Pizza Shop" which was really tasty and cheap.

We stayed here for two nights as a part of our Cosmos tour to Italy & Greece. We got an extremely small room with a even smaller bathroom. However, some of our fellow traveler's got a larger room. I recommend this hotel if you are traveling on a budget and need a neat and clean place to crash at night. The positives - Clean room, excellent service (especially the guy at the bar, who will go out of his way to meet your needs), proximity to the train station (right outside the hotel) and fairly decent food at the hotel restaurant. The negatives- small room, far away from Florence (unless you take the train) and few restaurant choices outside the hotel.
