“Restaurant is a pleasant surprise.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 28, 2014

This is a review of the restaurant, not the hotel itself.

Restaurants in this area are not plentiful so finding good ones is hard. Although we have known of the Bridgewater Hotel Restaurant a long time, for some reason we had never given it a try, probably because we usually don't look to small hotels for good dining experiences. Then a waitress we knew and respected, Jennifer, moved from another restaurant to the Bridgewater Hotel and recommended we give it a try, which we did.

My wife and I went there just before noon on a Friday and ordered a breakfast each. At the outset we were pleasantly surprised at the roomy, clean decor, nicely laid tables and comfortable seating. Service (from Jennifer) was prompt, timely and attentive. I had a two egg breakfast (breakfast is served all day) which comes with sausage, bacon or ham, home fries, toast, jam and tea, coffee or juice. I had it with the sausage and coffee ($4.99) plus a third egg for an additional $0.75. My wife had a three egg omelet and toast plus coffee ($6.95). She also had a fruit cup ($1.50). Our total came to $16.32, inclusive of taxes but not the tip.

All the food was really good, hot, tasty and promptly served. I particularly appreciated the nicely warmed plates which, to us, makes a big difference. Too many good meals are spoiled by being served on cold plates. The fruit bowl consisted of two kinds of freshly cut up melon, grapes, pineapple and strawberries. It was small but, for the price, excellent.

This is not an upscale dining establishment. They serve basic diner food but, based on this experience, it is good food, well served in a nice environment. The washrooms were clean too, a good sign. If that is the kind of establishment you are looking for, I recommend Bridgewater Hotel. The restaurant is open until 7pm and serve dinners such as soup, salads, fish, steak, chops, hamburgers, sandwiches and daily specials. The prices are very good. We will return to try their dinner items.

You can eat at this motel too. They try to compete with other diners and restaurants with prices and stuff. It's too bad because the prices are good but they are not properly equipped to wait on a table of more then two an even with a table of two you are waiting 45 minutes to almost an hour for food! That's a long time! It's really not amazing food so with the wait its not worth it at all.
Ps the picture you see is NOT the motel.
Management should update.

This has to be the worse hotel we have ever stayed in ,the average camp ground is cleaner and offers more services. To begin with every thing that you read in doers and dreamers is false there is no pool no sauna or hot tub they are quote broken even though they are visible. We were told after checking in that they have been broken for many months and will not be repaired any time soon; furthermore dogs are not welcome and no internet in the room as promised .The room itself unacceptable decaying food and trash behind the fridge and desk, cigarette burns on the blankets and a bathroom smaller than any closet .The advertised price we were told does not exist so we paid substantially more not knowing how bad it would be and of course no receipt was offered . After this nasty experience I contacted the hotel about these issues and rip off they would not even communicate with us .

Room Tip: you will be ripped off if you stay here
