Everyone loves a bargain and we thought this was until we arrived at the Niclos Club, Panos is your best friend when your spending. Our room was ground floor in the block adjacent to the pool we can call it "hell" for short. There are tatty notice in every room telling you what you have to pay if you break something or loose something, you will have thrown better out the beds are terrible, never saw the cleaner, same towels for the week etc
The second day we asked to be moved and we where to the block nearer to the sea which isn't much better other than the view. The staff running the bar and restaurant are much better and very friendly. We did ask for an upgrade elsewhere which you have to pay for but our rep assured us this was as good as it gets in Kavos so pointless really.
Kavos is a dump but looks great in the dark with your sun glasses on, we did see the usual rat scampering about but to be fair there everywhere.
We wouldn't go back unfortunately the brochure doesn't paint the true picture and no matter how good the bargain sounds based on Kavos there isn't one.

I came here with my boyfriend and we both hated the apartment; the "kitchen" was a cupboard that had one spoon, knife and fork, one mug and 2 bowls. we had to go and buy plastic cutlery and plastic plates & cups. It had a fridge next to the cupboard which was filthy inside.
The tiny bathroom was awful too, there were loads of webs and spiders in there and the shower curtain was dirty with holes in, our toilet roll hadn't been replaced from the last people so we only had half of one, we had to go buy more toilet rolls too. the floor throughout the whole apartment was dirty, i never walked around bear footed.
The apartment hadnt been cleaned throughout the whole holiday, our bins had only been changed, we never had our beds changed our got clean towels either.
We were aware of the no air-con and the heat did get too much on a night. it was too hot and we got loads of mosquito bites :(

But on the other hand, we did have a very enjoyable holiday, the swimming pool was a good size and there were plenty of sunbeds. i sunbathed alot while my boyfriend watched skysports on the big tv. there was a free pool table which we liked to play. We went into Kavos everynight where it was lively and there were loads of lovely restaurants and bars to go to. it was about a 20 minute walk from Nikolas Club.

We had two day trips out, going to the waterpark Aqualand which was a great day out.. good for all groups on holiday. and we also went on a boat trip to the island paxos; we got to jump into the sea and a stop off at the island for a couple of hours for some dinner and shopping.

the beach was gorgeous, as was the sea; warm calm and clear.

great holiday but certain we will never be staying in Nikolas Club again!!!

Right, I recently got back from Kavos with a group of 8 lads all aged 20 & absolutely loved it. I feel compelled to write this after seeing loads of questions and strange reviews on the internet. Firstly, Kavos is all about making the most of it because in parts, the place is quite grim. Random smells of sewage, litter and the distinct lack of rules on the road can be a bit off-putting. The coach journey from the airport to the hotel is about 90 mins up some windy roads so prepare yourself for that! However, the night life on the strip is unreal especially for young people looking for a good time. It is no more expensive than places like magaluf etc (i spent 400 but would advise you take a bit more to be safe) and there is actually some great places to eat on the strip (TKD's is an absolute must.. we went there twice in a week and i would have gone for a 3rd!). Nikolas club is a 20 minute walk from the strip.. while this sounds lenghtly, i was happy with this as i couldnt hack staying near the noise of strip every hour of the day. And regardless of this.. the Nikolas club legend and owner (i think?) Panos can order you a cab for 6 euros.. which is nothing between 4 people. On the topic of Panos, i've read some mixed reviews about him.. but let me tell you this, if you are polite and respect him and his property, he will be the most friendly and funny guy you've ever met. For example, he cooked me and my mates a meal on our last day and sat down for tea with us. Yes, he has his mood swings but who wouldnt if they barely got 4 hours sleep a day and had to act like they were the life of the party all the time?! The rooms at nikolas are very, very basic but then again.. who cares if you're not going to be there that often? one great thing about the location is that it is literaly a step away from the beach which is quiet and nicer than most beaches that i've seen on my other holidays. If your lucky enough to have Jamie as your rep then do go and speak to him.. he's really helpful without being pushy and forcing you to pay for things. The clubs and bars are generally great.. Atlantis was my personal favourite along with rolling stones, buzz and snobs bar etc. The weather was great all week aswel.. 36 degrees every day! Beware of mosquitos etc.. pack loads of repellent and bite cream.. one of my friends got bitten to death and nearly didnt go out one night it was that bad! One thing i must deeply stress is do not.. not go here with your family and probably not as a couple. Im sure there are some lovely places in corfu etc but Kavos is not for those who are going sight seeing!
In terms of violence, I did not see that much of it during the week although you do get the occaisonal wrong-doers as you do anywhere you go.. just be careful and try to stay in small groups and you'll be fine. Kavos literally seems to be one road so once you get you bearings the first day you should find your way around very easily. There are also quite a few decent artists who come to kavos.. while we were there wretch 32 and chase and status were performing at a couple of the clubs (giggs was there aswel but i dont class him as a remotely decent artist but each to their own!). For those kind of events you're looking at about 20-30 euros. One great thing about kavos is that you dont have to pay to get in anywhere unless it is one of those events. Another thing you'll hear about in kavos is a drink called the ----. Basically its 6 spirits and 3 mixers in one but not everywhere do them that great.. the strongest one i had was in snobs bar.. legends do quite a nice one as do rolling stones but if you want to get hammered quickly head to snobs! I think that's about it.. hope this helps and enjoy Kavos!!

Let's be honest - we didnt pay much at all for this holiday so I think my expectations were too high to start with. I do feel that people need to know what they are going to, though, no matter what they paid. The room was a bedsit. No telly, no kettle. no seat. a handheld shower next to the broken toliet. One toliet roll that wasn't replaced. A diesel powered fridge that chugged away throughout the night and all the mozzies you can handle. In short, desperately uncomfortable. All rooms very close to the beach, though, which was lovely so you have to weight it up. The sea was also lovely.

The bar area was quite good. Panos the manager never sleeps and is always there. He goes from being very welcoming to a bit creepy though, and towards the end of your holiday, his attitude definitely changes when he knows you haven't got much money left.

Beware - if you are on a nightflight, you still get chucked out of your room at midday, despite the fact that you are not getting picked up by the coach for another 14 HOURS and you have only had 6 nights there, not the 7 you have paid for.

The olympic rep was the most unhelpful and rude rep i have ever met. When we tried to speak to him, he neither removed his mirrored glasses or lifted his head from his paperwork to give his spectacularly rude replies. Example : We asked whether there was duty free in Corfu airport? He replied "well, you've been there haven't you?" ...... "T" - you are in the wrong job mate.

Kavos itself is a dump. a serious dump. The million 18 year olds there "on the pull" will disagree but it was a hole. Hated every second of it, but you have no where else to go. the touts were serious nuisances. the roads were filthy and the constant (rubbish) music blared out until you know every word of every crap R and B song. Do not take kids there. Do not go if you are over 21. Do not go if you are in a relationship. Drinks and food are cheap though.

Corfu airport was one of the worst experiences of my life. The airport can't cope with more than one plan load of departures, so you queue up, in your plane loads, outside the terminal for hours until they are ready to check you in. There were 6 plane loads waiting when we were there. It was like a refugee camp. Truly horrendous.

To finish, though, and very important for me, the sun beat down for 6 straight days and was relentless. It makes you forgive all my little moans. Saying that, though, you couldn't pay me to return to corfu. Not ever.

This hotel has its good and bad points so it depends whats important to you. The pool is a good size and clean with plenty of sun loungers. Panos (the manager) creates a very socialable fun atmosphere between guests which made our holiday. Although do not let Panos sway every decision you make. There is also a free pool table available.

Location is approximately 15-20 minutes walk to kavos although nearer 25 minutes to the bottom of the strip. Panos can order you a taxi which will cost you 6 euros. The beach is about 2 minute walk at the back of the hotel.

The rooms are very basic. They vary in shape and size so its luck of the draw! The rooms get very hot so a fan hire is advisable (15 euro p/w). Mozzies will eat you alive here so make sure you bring a plug for the room and a body spray repellent. The safe box is 10 euros a week.

The maid service was shocking - We didnt get a change of towels or bedding through the entire holiday. Her cleaning was very brief too! The water in the bathroom at times had a terrible smell with a dirty appearance. The bathrooms flood easily too.

The Rep provided a comprehensive welcome meeting however it was clear they put all their efforts into this to get your euros! There was little personal touch after that.

Overall, despite enjoying the pool atmosphere i wouldnt go again to this hotel or kavos.

Just come back from a weeks holiday at the Nikolas club (which is actually called Nikos Club but olympic changed the name in the brochure as there is another place called Nikos nearby). The people here are lovely - when you get there they will insist you have a drink and are not in a rush to show you to your room but this is just their laid back attitude and friendly nature. The barman Panos is an absolute legend.

The room - The apartments are basic, i wouldn't reccomend it if you plan to self-cater as the facilities are not great but the room was okay and there are loads of places to eat in kavos. It was not as clean as i would have liked it to be but they did come in and clean twice during the week and changed the sheets once. The rooms are boiling though and there is no air conditioning. You can rent a fan from the owner for about 1 euro a day which helps a bit. Everyone got eaten alive by mosquitos whilst we were there so it is well worth getting a plug in or these spiral incense things they do at the shop across the road.
Some of the rooms don't have safety deposit boxes but you can hire one from the tourist information place across the road for a few euros.

Location - the beach is 5 metres for those in the beach block and about 10metres for others. The beach is quiet and was not busy during our visit at the end of august - sun beds are free and there is a little place about 5 mins walk down the beach where they have jet skis and pedalos to hire. There are two bars at the apartments (the calamari at the hotel bar by the beach is amazing!) and a taverna a few metres away which can play music into the early hours but shuts early most nights due to lack of customers. You can walk into Kavos in 15-20 mins or get a cab for 6euros each way.

Kavos - is nuts!! Not for families. Your typical party place with people trying to get you into bars / restaurants. The best places to eat were The drunken Squid, TKDs and the Tex Mex cantina - the portions are massive. You can get a cab straight there to avoid all the PRs trying to pull you into the bars. If you are looking for a lively holiday you will love it! If you are looking for something a bit quieter then you can go into town early and avoid the madness but be prepared to fight off 30 PRs on your way back to the cab station! There are a few quieter bars at the edge of town. There are a couple of really lovely quiet restaurants on the beach at Kavos too.

If you do want to explore th island a bit more i would recommend hiring a car as the roads to isolated beaches are not surfaced and are very difficult to manage on a moped or quad. We had a moped which got a flat tyre and then a flat battery and then a buggy thing which also got a flat battery so car is the best way to go!

What an amazing place. We stayed in the Nikolas Club which was about 20 mins walk from main strip which good. But nightlife there is amazing, loads of different clubs with different music. Cheap as well, and the bars and clubs always got something going on. I loved the beaches there. People say that you can smell sewage but we didnt, maybe had a good week and the sewage pipes were not working but i dunno. Cheap, fun, hot, deff going back. The reps are really good as well, welcome meeting they do bar crawls, and a Rave in a Cave.
