“First Class Hospitality”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 22, 2013

The hotel is located just outside Paradissi, only a 10 euro taxi ride from the airport, so do not book a transfer.

If you do not like extreme heat, the weather in October on Rhodes is perfect, with temperatures in the mid twenties during the day and cooler at night.

The reception building consists of a downstairs lounge/TV area and restaurant upstairs. The restaurant has an outside seating area on a balcony overlooking the pool, with a views across the sea to Turkey and surrounding hills. There are 58 rooms at the hotel, set in two storey buildings with about 7 rooms in each building. The rooms are fairly basic but clean and functional. There was a fridge, hairdryer, TV, airconditioning (extra 5 euros a day) and a balcony with a table and chairs, with an insect screen on the door. There is a big pool, which is very deep, kept lovely and clean and was a pleasure to swim in.

Meals were served at a hot and cold buffet, with a good variety of salad items at lunch and dinner. Whilst there was not a great choice at the hot buffet, this was more than made up for by the quality of the lovely home cooked food. Wine, beer and soft drinks were served with the meals.

The all inclusive bar was between 1000 hrs and 2230 hrs, with only wine and beer being served prior to 1700 hrs, after which local spirits and cocktails were available. The wine and beer were probably the best we have had at an all inclusive hotel, which was a real bonus.

The only downside to this hotel is it's location. It is about a 20 minute walk to the local village, with very few street lighs and no pavement, so a walk after dinner was out of the question. There is a bus stop at the end of the road, but the bus service is not very reliable, with buses either not turning up, not stopping or braking down (all of which we experienced). The planes landing and taking off from the nearby airport were a pleasant distraction and did not bother us at all.

The 12 staff were all friendly and helpful and would go out of their way to assist their guests. We asked for a taxi to take us to the airport at the end of our stay, but along with another couple were taken there by the Sophie in her own car.

Overall this is an excellent family run hotel, with first class food, drink and hospitality - great for a relaxing break in the sun by a pool.

Great welcoming staff with wonderful meals. The accommodation was all we could hope for with a large pool near a quiet beach. My only concern was that it was at least a half hour's taxi drive out of Rhodes. This may suit many who have the package deal and who eat and drink at the resort, but we really would have preferred to be much closer to Rhodes city as we were there for only 2 days. It does have close access to the airport. Apart from that highly recommended.

Loved it here, it was exactly what I wanted from my holiday, quiet (a few planes but only 5 seconds each plane and you zone them out after a day or two) very clean every morning the toilets were bleached in reception and upstairs, our rooms were clean and beds made and clean towels every day.

Food was all fresh home cooking from spag bol, bbq chicken, a few greek dishes, turkey beef and lamb in various ways, salads, veg, potatoes, chips and lovely little puddings such as cakes and fruit, ice cream in the afternoon by the pool, all drinks included.

Swimming pool was big, cleaned everyday, nice sunbeds, music at the pool bar not too loud so you can sleep or read your book in peace.

You must wonder to the beach and see the sunset it was beautiful.

Bus stop opposite hotel to Rhodes, and bus times available from reception.

If you want a a restful holiday, early nights and quiet this is the place. I have come back feeling rested, calm and tanned :)

Room Tip: we were in room 404 so anywhere in that block is fine.

Having taken many holidays in the past at 3, 4 & 5 star hotels I am usually fed up with the quality of the food within 4-5 days, at large hotels you get many choices of starter, main & dessert that are usually mass produced and result in tasteless mush.

At the Vallian Village Hotel it is the first time I looked forward to all meal times throughout our holiday, although there is less choice for each course, all are prepared and cooked by Mum as if she was cooking for her own family. The main courses were to die for with every meat or fish course accompanied by a mixture of vegetables all wonderfully cooked, the dessert’s made by Sophie are not dressed up to look pretty but every one tantalises your taste buds. The all-inclusive is a very good option with good quality drinks served at the pool bar from 10am until10.30 pm (payable after 10.30pm)

The rooms are basic as shown in the professional photos, balcony, comfortable beds, TV and fridge. Plenty of hanging space and draws in wardrobes, clean towels are provided and the rooms cleaned on a daily basis.

Most reviews mention the location of the hotel is a 5 minute ride from the airport and this results in noise from the aeroplanes, rest assured after the first one or two planes take off they are not an issue & most people are oblivious to them or become plane spotters. The pebble beach is 5 minute walk away.

Now as stated in the heading 5 star hospitality, when we arrived at the hotel we were welcomed by Xanthia, who invited us to the restaurant to have lunch and a drink, following lunch she explained the all-inclusive option and helped us to our room. Chris and Alex behind the bar were always courteous and served you with a smile and plentiful supply of red wine, beer, cocktails and tea / coffee. On the 3rd day of our holiday my wife had developed flue like symptoms and was not at her best, during lunch without asking Sophie brought lemon tea and honey to alleviate her sore throat and bad chest. For the next few days Sophie and Xanthia were genuinely concerned for my wife’s health and had the bar staff make lemon tea. On our return home I asked Xanthia to book a taxi for us and two sisters we had met, when it was time for us to go Chris had placed all our cases in Sophie’s car and she took us to the airport were she refused any payment for the trip as she stated we were their guests.

The laid back and welcoming attitude of all family members and staff of this hotel certainly makes for a wonderful relaxing holiday were new friends are made.

I came on a last minute holiday as a 'step in' as my sister friend was taken sick the day before the flight. I knew nothing about this hotel and was a bit worried as I always check trip advisor before booking any holiday.

I was very VERY pleasantly surprised!! :-)

The location wasa 5 minute drive from the airport, yes there were planes flying low over the hotel but this was only in the day time and it was a quick short burst of sound, it really did not make any difference at all in fact it was very fascinating seeing all the different airlines and planes!

The hotel is a good size not too small and not large. It has a large pool and lots of sunbeds to choose from. There is an outside bar and pool table.

The rooms are basic but clean and the beds are so comfy! I have never slept so well and I am a light sleeper!

The all inclusive option is well worth it because all the food is home cooked by the mother of the family who run this business between them all. I wanted to not over indulge but I could not help myself! Lots of healthy options and very tasty!

The location is out the way however we wanted a relaxing sunbathing holiday.
There is a bus stop up the road from the hotel and one into Paradisi the nearest little village.
Down the road there is a pebble beach where we did not see a soul in sight so to us that was heaven to swim in the warm sea and watch the sunset! it was like being on your own island

We met some lovely couples and other friends and relatives on holiday and it was a very friendly welcoming relaxing holiday.

The family also drove us back to the airport when we had to sadly go home!

We got the bus into Rhodes for the day which was for two of us 4.20 euro. The bus does get busy and very hot at peak times!
We booked a day trip to Lindos from the hotel, a comfy coach ride was well worth it!

I went the year before to Rhodes and hired a car for the day and saw all the island.

Overall I really enjoyed my stay if I had to sum up this hotel
1. if you want to relax and read all day by the pool this is the place to go
2. if you like home cooked healthy food go here!

This hotel is not geared up for kids there is no evening entertainment

We just wanted a break from our stressful jobs to relax, sunbath read, swim, be lazy, go to bed early, get some decent sleep, walk to the beach etc

We will be coming back next year!
We went October 2nd for one week - perfect NO KIDS AROUND PEACE AND QUIET! :-)

Spent 10 days here in total, as with other reviews the hotel is very friendly, relaxing and staff incredibly attentive and happy to help. Food was always lovely though perhaps a bit repetative after 7 days.

Pool amazing and clean. Very deep (2meters one end and 1.5 meters on the other).

Plenty of sunbeds available.

Rooms - fridge in each room, aircon which costs 5€ a day and each room has a balcony. Fairly well sound proofed although we stayed end of season so hotel quiet anyway. Towels replaced every day. Only problem we had which others also experienced was no hot water in the shower in the morning.

Free wifi in pool, reception and bar area.

Yes you are close to the airport so aeroplanes do pass over but we quickly got used to it and it can prove to be quite fascinating.

Reception/staff very helpful - don't be afraid to ask! We wanted extra pillows which was no problem and also ran out of sun cream but they have loads saved!

If you are booking online via Travel Republic etc check out what tour provider you may have. We didn't know we had one but reception called the tour company to check and we did (Hellenic Tours, hotel4you etc). Went on three day tours - Marmaris Turkey, island tour and excursion to Lindos. The first two I highly receommend the last you'd be better off using public transport.

As a holiday to relax the VV is perfect, it is out of the way and no bars around. Thanks to everyone for making our holiday enjoyable!

As I was travelling solo I wanted somewhere that was friendly and welcoming. This hotel was certainly that. Family run and everyone was very helpful. The hotel, pool area and rooms all very clean. The balcony door even had a fly screen very unusual in Greece and all rooms should have them. Not the best beach here and sea is quite strong for swimming. Having arrived at 1030 at night it was disappointing not to be able to get a coffee or something to eat having been travelling most of the day. Having gone on an early morning excursion the hotel does not provide anywhere to get a coffee or some breakfast. Food is not brilliant and very small plates provided and food is served out like school dinners. Deserts are not good same old melon out everyday or a one inch square of cake. Apart from that nice location and hotel.
