Our family of four really enjoyed our stay with Thiwson. So the pro's: Our two small kids age two and four loved hunting crabs in the mud banks at low tide and to play in the water at medium tide. The adults liked swimming at high tide and the gorgeous views of the bay. And the food. Having traveled most of Thailand and eaten more than 1000 tom yam goong, the ones they make at Thiwson are definitely in top three. In fact, I particularly liked the tom yam pra - the vegetable version. The staff were very friendly, in particular the owner who was admirably patient and caring. So I don't agree with the previous review, but staff changes every year, so that might be one reason.
The downsides might be remoteness, the muddiness of the sand at low tide, the breakfast (but at home I would find toast, omelet and mango shake delicious, and the coffee is good), the sometimes slow food service (but hey, good food takes time). Only thing really missing is a pool and here's the thing: They're building one this low season (2013).
You almost don't have to, but if you also consider the price, this is tremendous value.
