We spent a long weekend in Mariehamn in November. Stayed two nights in Pommern and one in Park Alandia. Hotel Pommern is exactly what I expected. Two star hotel, nothing luxorious but you get what you pay for. . Our room 229 was a twin on second floor in a long corridor with windows to the yard on one side and rooms on the other. The windows from the room opened a view to the corridor.
Room was ok in size after we pushed our beds together. Bathroom was larger than expected, with a shower working well and with very very hot water. Beds ok, pillows just adequate. My biggest complaints come from noise: rooms are not soundproof, so children running up and down the corridor, banging doors, windows shattering. Not nice to wake at 7.11 on a Sunday morning to this. So much for the sleep quality...
Breakfast was served on downstair restaurant. Very limited selection. We did not starve, though.
Internet connection is not free, 10 eur per 24 hours. too expensive, so we did not pay and therefore I cannot comment on speed.
Friendly service at front desk.
For a 2 star hotel this is fine. Just do not expect more than 2 stars from it.
