“fantastic holiday am going again and again.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 23, 2010

There was my partner and 2 friends (couple) who went on this holiday, this is a fantastic hotel and would advise anyone to go! I am going again in August. The weather was perfect, a few hours of cloud and a bit of rain for 1 day but other then that was perfect, The staff were fabulous! they couldnt do enough for you. very very friendly and always helped you or advised you on anything you needed to know. I would recommed going to a resturante called the three little pigs, amazing food. Alot of entertainment along the strip! The room we had was nice , basic but not shabby! alot of wasps and i hate them but i just tried to ignore them, they left you alone when you wernt eating! the pool was a lovely temp, All in all a fantastic holiday and looking forward to going again.

Just got back from a week at the Zafiris. Although as others have said, the apartments are looking a little tired and rough around the edges, the staff certainly make up for it!! Nick and Dimitrius were lovely and made you feel really welcome. And the cute guy at the Pool bar was very easy on the eye!! lol :)

It's an ideal location being in the quieter area of Sidari, as the nightlife is close enough if you want it (about 15min walk), or you can stay round the quieter area. Theres certainly plenty of restaurants to choice from.

Also, as one previous review stated, the first choice trips are very expensive. We did the simply corfu (which we found out later on was half the price in one of the shops) and this didn't include lunch or the price of the boat trip!!

One tip - take insect repellent. We got bitten quiet badly but it was our own fault as we didn't take any sprays or bite relief cream!!

Overall, i would definately recommend Zafiris to friends and family. We had a fab time and can't wait to go back.

Just returned from our third visit to the Zafiris. The rating of "Average" above is based purely on this year's visit - in previous years the Zafiris would have rated at least a "Very Good". Things that haven't changed: the food is still lovely, the cocktails are excellent and the staff deserve praise for how they all work so hard to ensure you have a good holiday.
Sadly the hotel itself is starting to show the signs of wear and tear, particularly around the pool area and within the apartments themselves. Our apartment, whilst being spacious and clean, didn't have a seat on the toilet - not good with a 3 year old terrified of falling in - I know it's nearly the end of the season and it is Greece but some things are simple to fix. The decking area around the Kahlua pool bar has loose planks and holes in it where the timber is rotting - quite dangerous when attending the Greek night and partaking in the dancing! Quite why things are in this state is a bit of a mystery, as all of the staff - including the maids and maintenance people - seem to work very hard even in the hottest part of the day.
I have heard there is a major refurbishment planned for this winter - if so I look forward to returning next year to see the Zafiris' "face-lift" - I have thoroughly enjoyed all of our holidays here and hope to continue visiting in the future. I would recommend the place to others, but would say just be aware of the "rough edges" relating to the accommodation - if you are prepared to put up with them, the staff more than compensate.

ive just got back from staying at the zafiris and i must say the accomodation we stayed in was the worst ive ever stayed in .. we got there and some of the lights wernt working the kitchen area and bathroom were crawling with ants and there was damp in a few places, there was electric wires hanging from a socket next to the bed which wasnt good if children were staying here and on the second night there we had a visitor ( a mouse) which was the icing on the cake.... but i must say the staff sorted the 4 legged problem straight away put the other problems were just ignored.. when we complained about the mouse she just said its cos the weathers getting colder im sorry but thats a load of rubbish ive stopped in places in sept before and not experienced this, its all a bit dissapointing when u save up to come on hol and end up in somewhere like this wen we paid £1,486 for this hol
on a brighter note the staff around the pool were lovely and the food was quite nice and resonabley priced, we ate out most nights the food and nicholas rest not far from here was traditional and really good especially the stiffado ... and stu and stefan at the planet pool were great fun and cocktails were the best, ive been to corfu now 4 times and im sorry to say i wont be back.. we went to zante last year and its much nicer im sad to say. if u decide to do any excursions dont book with first choice there way too expensive theres plenty of travel shops throughout sidari, we went to the aqua park and had a brill time thats def a must wot ever ya age lol ... im not a snob i hol in greece often its just a shame we got one of the dodgy apts on this complex so if u stay there ihope u dont get the rooms opposite the reception x

I arrived home yesterday after a two week stay at the Zafiris Apartments in Sidari, Corfu and what can I say, it was brilliant. There were nine of us in the party altogether, two families with children of mixed ages ranging from 8 to 15 and we all loved every minute of it. The weather was gourgous.

The staff were absolutly superb, so friendly and could not do enough to help you, especially Nicko, Demitrius and Dawn on reception. By the second day we were on a first name basis with them. You do not have to move off your sunbed to get a drink the staff are on hand all the time. I couldnt fault there service.

The accomodation was great even if a bit basic but met our expectations. There was the odd doorknob that had fallen off for example but nothing major. We had a couple of problems at the beggining such as the patio door didnt lock and the shower broke however these were fixed immediatly so did not cause us any inconvienience.

The location of Zafiris is great. It is near enough the main Sidari strip if thats where you want to be however far enough away to avoid the noise and livelyness. To be honest we did not really like the main strip as it was a bit tacky so tended to stay nearer and visit the restraunts around the area we were in which were fine. A few restraunts which were especially good were "The Three Little Pigs", The Cliffside restraunt situated at the Zafiris itself and a mexican which was in the main strip but absoulutly gourgous. However we ate out at about 8 different restraunts and did not have one bad meal. The Greek night at Zafiris is a must, had a fab night with brilliant entertainment and great food too !

The beach in Sidari was a let down if im honest, it is very thin and the water has an extremely off putting smell. However despite this a few steps down from the Zafiris you are at a beautiful cove with the famous " tunnel of love" which was great to swim through. A bit further round there were two more coves, all with crystal clear water. Also if you turn left next to the saxophone bar and keep walking there is another beach situated opposite a small supermarket which was lovely. We enjoyed swimming to the small islands spotted in the sea where you could climb onto and jump off.

We went on a couple of trips including the beach bbq boat trip and Aqualand which were both really good fun. However do not book these excursions with First Choice as there prices are discusting. There are loads of travel offices around sidari where you can get the same trips but at much better value. We personally went with SB travel.

All in all we had a great holiday and would certainly return. The staff were second to none and really made us feel special.

Just got back yesterday from a great 2 weeks at the Zafiris. As you do, i read the reviews and as you do, i started fretting over the negative ones, which were hardly any. We stayed in a 2 bedroomed apt near the pool and it was spottless, yes maybe needed a little TLC but hey! you only kip in the place. All the staff where the best i've come across and could not do enough for you, always happy and friendly, from the 'boss man' to the maid. I'm finding it really hard to think of anything negative but if i had to say anything it would be the shower and the length of the single beds. Shower: great pressure and always plenty of hot water but aaagh! the most useless shower curtain i've ever seen. It was like trying to shower whilst being wrapped in cling film!!! flooded the bathroom on more than one occasion! Single beds: well yes they're great, if your under 5 foot! Both my teenagers spent the whole holiday with there feet hanging off the end, though it didn't seem to bother them! Had a fantastic time and would definitely go back. PS. definitely take plenty, and i mean plenty, of mozzy spray, lotions etc. you'll need it!
