“Fantastic Holiday!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 18, 2013

Me and my boyfriend visited this hotel in July 2012 and it was one of the best hotels we have been to.

When arriving to the hotel and the coach dropping us at the bottom of the dirt track to be greeted by a Greek entertainment worker I was a little apprehensive and nervous, however I can at least say that I had nothing to worry about.

The rooms are apartments and yes could do with some modernisation but if you are on holiday you do not want to spend all your time in the room. The rooms were spacious and clean. They are set in small blocks and ours was towards the end of the hotel complex towards the road, but was very close to the shops and was very quiet.

The pool area was clean and tidy and plenty of sunloungers around. The restaurant was again clean and tidy and the food was amazing! I am normally a fussy eater when on holiday but I can happily say that I had no problems wasting here and there was a range of food every night to cater to all tastes. They also do snacks at the poolside bar all day long.

All the staff were very helpful and attentive and if you have any questions the you can happily ask any of the staff and they are only too happy to help.

The location is great whilst within easy reach Sidari, a short walk over the main bridge (with the turtles) or along the main beach, this is very touristy but is great for a range of shops. However, just a stones throw away from the hotel is a handful of shops and restaurants. There is also an office that promotes Excursions on this road just outside of the hotel this is good for all the excursions that Corfu has to offer and I booked several trips through this and was very happy with the service provided. I found that whilst First Choice do the excursions they are very very long day excursions and in July is was too hot to be out all day in it.

I would recommend this hotel for couples or for families that they do provide great entertainment. You will not be disappointed if you come here.

We stayed here for a week at the end of September and I can honestly say I didn't want to come home! The location was perfect with truly stunning with picturesque views. The hotel was in the perfect place on the edge of Sidari with a short coastal or road walk to the centre. All the staff at the hotel were brilliant and couldn't help enough despite us being there in the last week of the season. The food was good and fresh, the only down side for me was the chips etc but that's because of the fussy moaning Brits. Our room was beautiful and clean and the maids were fantastic. Even the site maintenance man was friendly and helpful despite his little English (and our very little Greek). The only down side for us was the all inclusive drinks but this was very minor and there were far too many positives for this to have any true affect on our holiday overall. I will say do not go here if you expect a rep/kids club as the in put from first choice is minimal (the hotel do EVERYTHING!). Overall we had an amazing holiday and cannot thank everyone at the Zafiris enough.

Having enjoyed our stay here in May we decided to return for two weeks at the end of august when we enjoyed another wonderful break here. A few things have changed, the food is even better than before, which is saying something, and there was a weekly barbecue. The bar opening times have changed and now the pool bar is open some evenings, which suited us.
We hired a car and did a bit of exploring but other than that we just relaxed by the pool.
Many thanks to all the staff who are always friendly and helpful and also very hard working, I don't know how they manage the long hours. Looking forward to returning at some point next year.

Stayed here August 2012. Not as good as several years ago, before it was all inclusive I have to say, but very nice all teh same. The food was good, always lots to choose from. Sunbeds were always available around the pool, and the staff were very helpful and friendly. Its not right in the centre which is nice, but close enough to have a walk to shops and restaurants.

We arrived on the 21st September for a two weeks holiday, we were three families totalling 10 people with 4 children varying from an 8 year old, toddlers to an infant. All the family was catered for superbly, rooms were clean, modern for Greece (rooms reminded me a little of the Jurys Inn in Leeds) and above expectations for a 3 star hotel in Greece (you can never be too sure of standards within Greek accommodation, this was fine). Food was varied within the restaurant with different meal choices each day. The childrens entertainment was good, with varying activities provided by first choice and the in house entertainment team. While we were there our whole family and most people in the hotel commented on the friendliness and how helpful the staff at the hotel were from the manager Martin to staff in the restuarant. Angela worked in the restaurant and was great with the children, she helped to get them seated, find a high chair as we walked in, I walked in one evening with all the kids whilst everyone else was getting ready, Angela came across helped find the kids some food whilst i sorted out our baby - this is type of service that really makes a different to your stay. The hotel was situated about ten minutes from the main area of sidari which is just about right, as its away from the main hussle and bussle, but it does have some good local bars and restuarants close by.

I would highly recommend this hotel if your looking for a good value 3 star family break with great service.

Returned on 28th September having spent a week there with my wife and nine year old son. We read the reviews on this site prior to booking and decided to book taxi transfers both ways as we didn't fancy the long coach transfers that some have mentioned on here; they're expensive at 53 euros each way but it does make for a quicker and more relaxing arrival/departure.

On arrival we were quickly shown to our large and clean room and then we went for lunch where Kostas, the owner, made a point of finding and speaking to us and wishing us a good holiday, British hoteliers take note! Throughout our stay we found all of the staff employed at the hotel to be extremely hard working, happy and helpful, they are a really great group who make every effort to ensure that people enjoy their stay.

Food is plentiful and tasty if a little repetetive, one minor criticism would be the hot and cold beverages which are all dispensed from machines, we found the fruit juices to be over diluted and very weak and the tea and coffee no more than luke warm, issues than can easily be remedied.

Positives for us included the size of the rooms, we opted for an extra room for our son and we were pleasantly suprised by the amount of space that we had. Yes, the rooms are fairly basic but you need to remember that this is effectively a two star hotel in Greece, if you want something more luxurious book a five star and pay the difference. The pool and pool bar are good and there are more than enough sun beds to not have to worry about the 5 am towel deployers.

As others have mentioned, this is the first year that this hotel have operated as an all inclusive and I guess they are still finding their feet. It is fair to say that their policy is adequate but not as "inclusive" as you may have found elsewhere, for instance, gin is available at certain times of the day but tonic is chargeable. Perhaps the all inclusive aspect will be reviewed and improved for next year.

The location is great with several sandy beaches being literally on the door step and accesible by a sea front footpath within minutes, take note, many of the lights along this footpath don't work which could be dangerous at night, I almost walked off a cliff so I'd recommend taking a torch.

As others have said, the staff at Corfiot Travel are very helpful and offer the same trips that First Choice offer at better prices but one word of advice, if you're hiring a car to take up the mountain roads don't take their Hyundai Accent automatic, I did and I can honestly say I can't think of a less suitable vehicle for this type of trip, I'd rather drive Del Boy's van!

In short, as long as you remember you are not paying five star prices you should enjoy a stay at the Zafiris, we would certainly consider staying there again.

Room Tip: We stayed in the older building opposite reception which is close to the restaraunt and pool, I'...

We would like to thank the authors for the time in writing this review.
As correctly noted this is our first season as an all incluisve and we will take on board much of what has been written on this site and feedback taken from other sources.

Whilst we can see there will always be room for improvment we feel comfortable that in 5 months we have come a long way and this is refected in the overall account of our services by the customers who have taken the time to record their views.

Plans are in place to improve the hotel for 2013 and we are looking forward to opening the doors again in May next year.

Wishing you all the best and thanking you again for your time.

With best regards
The hotel staff and management of the hotel Zafiris.
