“Awful food, apartment & host Billy”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed October 2, 2012

Stayed here in May 2009 & wish we hadn't. At first we thought everything would be great as we were greeted by Billy with cake, orange juice which was a nice gesture but that's where it all ended because if like us you don't like sitting around the pool all day or moving off the complex then Billy will never want to know you, he only makes of those who never venture from his place. I find it hard to believe that most of the comments rate this place - all I can say is hey must be easily pleased. The breakfast we were served came on a side plate & was supposed to be English breakfast & to my knowledge there was only English staying at the andromeda but yet the breakfast came with smoked sausage! The apartment we had was near the bar & although Billy ensured us we would never be disturbed by music I'm afraid the same tape played on a loop until the last guest left the bar & yes we heard every noise, seems a shame as the andromeda is situated in the Peroulades area which is a quiet location & it does have some lovely views, if I ever here the Killers song Human I will scream! Apartment was basic & didn't even include a bottle opener or a dustbin & this was meant to be for 4 people but only had plates for two people if you are lucky, but then the place is so damp you wouldn't want to cook in them. When we complained to Billy he was only interested in his reputation & star rating, we said we weren't happy with the damp & he said it wasn't his fault as it had been a very wet winter (so why weren't the apartments dried out before accepting guests, we had to leave clothes outside to air & the windows would steam up with condensation every morning, the chairs were covered in black mould & downstairs where luckily we didn't have anyone staying but it is meant to house extra children/adults the whole floor was crawling with woodlice & other crawlies. We hardly spent any time hanging around here apart from when we first woke up & of course coming back to try & sleep. Bar & food were both over priced & the food was nothing to write home about, I would advise to eat somewhere else as it is much cheaper & far more tastier, one of our favourites was The Orchard run by George & food cooked by his wife, George makes everyone welcome & always has a story for all

Room Tip: Try staying at another apartment - don't stay at The Andromeda

We just returned back from holiday in hotel "ANDROMEDA" which we have now renamed "PARADISE". From start to finish we felt like family. Our holiday started on a sour note when our flight was delayed and then on arriving in corfu we got lost on the road to sidari however......we then phoned to the owner of the hotel for directions-billy (the owner) immediately set us on the right road and even offered to meet us and bring us to the hotel. From the moment on our arrival was the best ever.
we arrived at andromeda to be greeted by a smiling billy with a drink. Things just kept getting better. Billy took us to our room and we couldnt believe our luck.it was beautiful, bright, spacious and very clean !!!! it had everything we could possibly need even down to toiletries, hair dryer and shower cap !!!!!! woohoo
we were deligthed to find not only the usual kitchen equipment but a toaster and a microwave provided as standard not only this but safe deposit box and air conditioning were also FREE !!!!!!!!!
we overlooked the magnificent pool which was always clean and well maintened and even managed to tempt me in -i dont do pools because of big hair !! there was also no need to be up at the crack of dawn to put towels on the beds as there were plenty of them.more than enough to go round.
what we can say about the food - mama always fresly prepared and cooked the food to order. Everything that we ate we thoroughtly enjoyed and was great value for money.
it was also the ideal location as we were near enough to sidari to have all the fun but far enough away to have peace and relaxation and would be perfect for children as it is safe and child friendly.
we met lots of lovely people who have been coming here for years-we can see why !! we will be joining them. !!
thank you to billy and his family. We had a wonderful time and we will certainly see you next year !!

T I P !!!!!! ANDROMEDA accepts ONLY direct bookings-cannot be found in any travel agents !! so contact Billy at the andromeda. You can also find andromeda on: facebook.com/corfuandromeda

I think I made an excellent choice when I booked 'Hotel Corfu Andromeda.' It wasn't my first choice, I wanted a self catering apartment, so I could be alone and do as I pleased, but because I had to catch a train to Gatwick during the day, then my flight would not get me into Corfu until past midnight and there was no one available to let me into an apartment at that time, ergo, this was the next best thing, a self-catering studio apartment, with a hotel reception.

I did read the worst reviews first on Trip Advisor, but this is a mistake, as Billy has changed many things, including the fact that the air conditioning is now free. My bin was changed on a daily basis, apart from weekends, when the cleaners are off, but again, Billy is a cleaning fanatic and mopped the whole lobby himself on Sunday morning. In short this hotel is kept spotless. If you need anything just ask. Toilet rolls, towels and bed linen are provided, along with cutlery and crockery, a toaster, a kettle and a few pans. Yes there is a hob too, if you really want to waste time cooking!

To describe it, surrounded by mountains and countryside away from the hustle of Sidari, you have a complex of three modern blocks of studio flats, surrounding a beautiful, blue, crystal pool. Above them on the hill is the bar, which doubles as a restaurant, behind this, inside, is a reception, pool table, TV and lounge seating area where the best WiFi signal is obtained, also free, and a computer you can hire to browse the Internet if you don't have one with you. Oh and two pay phones are also available for use and books if you fancy something to read by the pool.

The nearest super market is twenty minutes away, turning right from the hotel, on the road to Sidari town and I'd say another five or ten minutes walk to get to the town centre itself, described as a mini Blackpool.

I came when it was quite quiet and because I was too scared to drive up mountains, Billy took it upon himself to take me out on two day trips with a couple of other friends, two were also guests that couldn't drive, to make sure we saw the best bits of Corfu. Not many other hotel managers would have done this, consequently I came as a guest, but left as a good friend.

Our third time at Bily and his family's aparthotel and it was lovely as ever. It's the only place we'd consider returning to again and again. Such a pretty setting with clean, spacious accommodation. Billy can't do enough to make your stay a good one, Androula the cleaner was a sweetie and good at her job, and Mario was a super-efficient and friendly barman. We hired push bikes (not great quality but very cheap)from the place five minutes walk from the hotel on the road to Sidari and a car for a few days to look further afield. Ate often as always at Bikolis taverna (3 minutes left out of the hotel on way to Peroulades) which is even better than before with its new garden terrace and discovered another lovely restaurant with fab fresh fish off the road to Roda called Yialos - Billy can give you directions but you'll need a car to get there. Other best discovery this year was Arrillas beach, next bay down from Aghios Stephanos on the NW coast. And, of course, the Mohitos at the Sunset Bar in Peroulades were unmissable - as was the sunset.

Room Tip: Best rooms for quiet, cool shade and no mosquitoes are on first floor at far end of the pool facing...

We are a young couple in our early twenties who wanted a relaxing holiday. We booked this hotel off the back of tripadvisor reviews and were slightly disappointed after it all. Upon arrival we were greeted with a glass of orange squash which was a nice touch and were shown to our room, which was quite large compared to previous greek accommodations. The rooms were very clean and maids came in every other day to tidy up.

Positives:
• Billy and the bar staff were fantastic
• Pool was very clean and never had a problem getting a sun bed
• Room was very clean and spacious
• Our rep, Pip was fantastic and helped us out a few times by driving us down to the beaches and showing us around.
• Food was nice, club sandwiches were lovely
• Cocktails were lovely.

Negatives:
•bar was expensive
• our room was ground floor, air conditioning was 10 euros a night which we felt was too expensive which meant we had our doors open all night. This caused a problem as we could hear music clearly which was still being played well up to 2am in the morning.
Although this was a negative, Billy mentioned he kept an eye on our room most nights as we had the doors open.
• the restaurant didn't open until 9am which we felt was too late, as sometimes we had booked trips which meant having no food before leaving. When the breakfast did come it was good quality.
• The hotel is at least 45 minute walk from the centre (walking fast).

I would say that you definitely need some means of transport to get from the resort to the town, although there are taxis available from 6 euros a trip.

All in all we did have a good holiday but if you don't want to go out drinking or stay up really late I wouldn't recommend.
We probably wouldn't return to this island.

This was our second visit to Andromeda as we loved it so much first time around! After a warm welcome from Billy & Mario we were given refreshments and then shown to our room & helped with our luggage. Our room was nice clean and comfortable, fresh bedding and towels provided every couple of days and balcony had a nice view out onto the pool area which is illuminated in the evening and cleaned every night. The bar and restaurant areas are nice to relax in after a hard days sunbathing or the helpful accommodating staff will crank up the music if you fancy a little boogie and Mario makes the most amazing cocktails!! Sidari itself is a bit of a walk approx 30mins but if you don't like walking to take in the views then quad or car and bike hire is available from nearby agents where day trips can also be organised, they are fully insured and reliable so won't take your money and leave you stranded! Sidari also has A lovely variety of bars, shops and restaurants that have seating areas looking out onto the beach and a range of watersports and boat hires are available. Sunset beach(loggas beach) if upu go left out of Andromeda is well worth a visit for an amazing view of the sun setting in the ocean. This was another amazing holiday for us as a couple and ideal for families of all ages. Thanks again to all the wonderful staff at Corfu Andromeda, We will be back again soon!!!!
