“Great place, will return again and recommend”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 31, 2012

We stayed in a two room apartment with our two children (9 and 12 years) and loved it! The children said it was their best ever holiday!

Very friendly and helpful staff, double key security boxes in reception, great pool - shallow circle pool for young children, 3m at deep end of main pool. Clean spacious rooms with good storage space, clean sheets and bins emptying every other day. Beds a bit hard but we got used to it, Air con in both rooms, quick to make a difference on those hot days. Mini Kitchen sufficient for the few meals we cooked. Socket to recharge phone / DS etc. We thought it looked the nicest hotel too! Good prices and variety of food and drinks for children and adults at the pool bar.

The hotel is down a little lane, a couple of minutes from the very pleasant main street (lots of shops, eating places, excursion centers and an amazing bakery). So the hotel is nice and quite away from the evening bustle but it is all just a stroll away. The beautiful harbour and beaches were also easy walking distance.

This was our first visit to Corfu and we loved it! We are planning to return in May when when lower temperatures will allow us to explore the island more. We will certainly be re-booking Philippos Hotel again.

I was very disappointed with Philippos especially as it has some great reviews, for one we were put in a room with a balcony that was about 2 feet away from the pool toilets, not a very nice view!!! After returning to our room one night we had a huge cockroach running across the apartment floor, this is the first time in all my 12 years of visiting Corfu I have ever seen a cockroach and this kind of gave us a bad feeling about the place!!
The room was quite spacious but very basic as you would expect.
The pool area is too cramped, there are plenty of sun beds but there isn't any room to turn them around so you can't follow the sun, unless you use the sun beds that are in the shade all day.
The pool bar serves up some decent snacks at very reasonable prices.
There was a group of approx 25 Serbians staying there who all appeared to be part of a band of some sort, they all felt the need to practice their talents with their instruments which I found very annoying, the hotel management should have put a stop to this but they just seemed to carry on regardless, not very relaxing while on holiday!!!
In general kassiopi is a very nice place, generally more expensive than other resorts but I think this is maybe to keep away the people who prefer to pay €1 for a beer.
We will return to kassiopi but sadly not to Philippos

Room Tip: Asked not to be put in room 407!!

We stayed for one week in a 2 bedroom apartment. The room was very spacious. We have two children so it was perfect. The staff were very helpful. It is situated just off the main road, so it's away from the noise. The pools were kept very clean. Bar snacks were reasonably priced. I would recommend this hotel to anyone.

This is our 4th year! the rooms are basic but big and very clean. the pool and bar area are also kept very clean. Spiros, Jenny and their staff are always helpful and they are lovely people. This hotel is brilliant value for your money.

We visited Corfu back last summer, late deal - last minute kind of affair. Taking our chances we booked with e-bookers (too cheap for good measure!) and ended up in the 'hotel' adjacent to Phillipos which could have been named Hell-io's (as in hell). Anyway after my partner and I had stuck the room for about 10 minutes we decided to get the Hell-ios out of there!

We walked back up to the road that leads you to Phillipos and went in to see if there might be a slight chance in booking a room, the apartments and surrounding premises looked well cared for, clean and what I can only describe as wholesome. We met up with a firm but kind hearted lady called Jenny, asking her if there was any possibility of any vacancies, low and behold an Italian couple had just cancelled and we were awarded with our ground floor room! - again clean, tidy looked after apartment - basic, but in Greek terms very nice and comfortable. Yes we did have the burden for shelling out a further 55 euro per night for our sins, but to be honest I felt it was self inflicted so bit the bullet and moved on!

Not forgetting the main man - Spiros of course who was also a gentleman and we found all of the staff were polite and happy. There was an eclectic crowd of European guests along side us, all pleasant and friendly really. The poolside bar was nice, good bar type food & nice cold beer in those icey type glasses out of the freezer!

The local harbour town was beautiful, restaurants located in and around it ranged from good to very nice/good and all well priced. Locals were friendly and the town seems to have retained its origins of a small fishing town but strangely and perhaps uniquely, has the ability to still have crack with a few lively bars dotted along the walk from Phillipos. A great balance of tranquility at a quiet eatery and/or a good night out at a local bar can be had by all.

All in all we had a really lovely holiday in Kassiopi with Philipos adding to the pleasurable experience..... And yes it just goes to show that sometimes you can find a little pot of gold at the end of the Rainbow!!

Stayed for 2 weeks in August, had a great time, perfect location, Spiros and Jenny very welcoming and friendly. Lovely pool area no fighting for sun beds! Pool bar serving good value food and drink.

Two minute walk to main street, lots of good restaurants and bars to choose from, beautiful harbour as well.

Have booked for next year and can't wait!!

Room Tip: Ask for a pool view.
