“SUNNY STUDIOS”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed October 4, 2012

Kassiopi Lovely location/village. Tavernas and bars good and as is usual with Greece the people are friendly etc.End of the night watering hole aptly named "One For The Road"
Beaches pebbly but very clean,to the harbour turn left and a short climb. The lady that owns the last shop before the beaches(Irene I think) is the epitome of the Greeks, very friendly.

Now the important bit Studios Sunny
Room large,light and airy
Beds firm but all in all no problems
Second floor rooms obviously better.small balcony but usable. We were in R6 not much of a view but no problem as we always say its somwhere to put your head etc.
Fridge worked OK. Cooker a bit you know what but get over it.As is normal its a 2 star and eating out is what its all about !!
Linen/bed sheets changed once in the week but did the job Looked a bit grey but its not the Hilton.
Never saw the owner and check out according to rep was 12 noon but the cleaner said it was 1000hrs She obviously wanted an early finish but it was no problem
Would I return ?? Been all over Greece.and would return to Kassiopi but not these appts. They were adequate but there are better in the area.
Finally the question of the bane of us all the mosquito. As previously mentioned on the approach to the appts there is a disused underground storage area possibly owned by the nearby supermarket which was full of stagnant water and rubbish an obvious hazard and the wife who is usually on the mozzy menu suffered a few bites(I myself have an immune system!!!! which annoys her no end)

Kassiopi laid back and very relaxing Studios OK

Room Tip: Upper floor Room 6 had a decent balcony overlooking pool area

Sunny studios are exactly as they are described. 2 star value for what you pay. Yes the beds are rock hard, we folded a blanket and placed under sheet, it is surprising how much it helps. Yes you have to buy your own toilet rolls, this is self catering so should not come as a surprise.Studio 3 and 7 are smaller than the other six but still ample room for 2 compared to some i have stayed in. They are located right in the centre of kassiopi so not far to walk to any of the bars, restaurants, supermarket, harbour or beaches. Yes they can be difficult to find if you have not been to kassiopi before and especially if arriving at night. They are behind the sconto supermarket in the square down a small pathway next to angelos bar, which is next to the sconto. They are owned by jackson and his wife mary. She is the cleaner as well. Yes the sheets are only changed once a week. The bins are emptied often and yes the sheets and towels have seen better days. The pool is a good size and kept clean. Pool bar serves snacks and drinks at reasonable prices and yes they do charge 2 euro to use the pool area, but you can have a drink with that. If you were using a pool that didnt charge i am sure you would buy something while there anyway so whats the difference. Both jackson and mary are very nice helpful people and have have no problem getting them to fix or replace anything that may be broken. We have stayed in these studios twice and would not hesitate to stay there again especially as you can get a months holiday for £500 each. The rooms are only for sleeping and showering in. They are not meant to be home from home

Room Tip: Room 5 on the top has the biggest balcony, with view of the pool room 2 on the bottom faces the toil...

just come back from a week in sunny apartments, we found that them to have an excellent location right in centre of town, but not noisy at all, the only noise came from the school yard next door in the mornings when the children in playground, the apartment 8 was bigger than expected basic furniture, cooker ring took half hour to heat up, oven worked fine and fridge, plenty of hot water in fact so hot it was unreal, the sheets were not changed, but rubbish taken daily and towels changed twice, the owners were very nice, pool bar shut early sometimes if no one around so couldnt go for a swim after 5, loads of mosquitos as right next to a big field no view what so ever, no one there to greet you just find your name on sheet and key in ash tray inside, they didnt seem to mind what time you left, we found the town it self lovely but nothing to do of an evening if you didnt eat or drink, the harbour and sights are breath taking, if you want a holiday to relax and not do much then this is it, would reccommend the sunny if you just want basic and somewhere close to town round the corner, the place is not as bad as i thought
accept for the beds they are the most uncomfortable beds i have ever slept on they are like a brick my husband had to buy a inflatable bed to sleep on as he couldnt sleep on them. the pool was fine but charged 2 euros and you got a drink,

Room Tip: room 8 upstairs better

This was our first and last visit to the Sunny Apartments. Although some of the reports we read are not how we found the apartments, for what we paid (£177) for 2 weeks accommodation for the 2 of us was very cheap and for those prices you should not expect too much. We were dropped off late at night and told to walk down a slope, if we had not known where we were going from previous visits to village it could have been a problem to actually locate the apartments. We knew from previous reports that we had to look on notice board for room allocation and that the keys would be on the ashtray on the table and this was correct, my Wife and I had room 2 and our friends had room 1. Both rooms were larger than we expected and had all the basic facilities you would expect and looked fairly clean and well kept, although still not sure about the colour scheme in the rooms. Over the 2 weeks we were here we found the sheets and towels to be clean although a little past there best, the room was cleaned every other day and Towels changed twice a week and sheets once a week, which is no more or less than we would do at home. The owners were nice and very helpful it was just the location which gave no views of what is a delightful Village. The view from the balcony was non existent unless your idea of a good view is a car park as you can see from the photos and the Sun never came onto the balcony at any time of day. Normally we have very few complaints about cheap accommodation normally only using the apartment to shower and sleep, but the worst thing about the apartments were the beds, I have slept in some very unusual and weird places over the years including 23 years in the Army, I have never in my life slept on anything so hard and uncomfortable.

We will return to Kassiopi next year, but won't be staying here again as there are a lot of apartments with far better locations for not much more than we paid for this years visit.

At this time of year a lot of the Bars and Restaurants have closed so you are restricted in where you can eat and drink and if going at this time of year you will need to bear this in mind. We ate most Nights at The Bolero which we found as always has good food, a good menu and really nice people, a 2 course meal for 9 euro's 80. If I can recommend anything you have to try the home made Chicken soup. The menu has a mixture of English and Greek food on the menu and therefore caters for all, and why does every Restaurant think us Brits only eat Chips, luckily here you can ask for Jacket Potatoes or Mashed in stead of the Chips, so don't be afraid to ask.

I would like to know who came up with the name "SUNNY" as Sunny they ain't.

Room Tip: The Rooms that face onto the School Playground at least do get the Sun in the morning

My family and I have just returned from Sunny Studio's and we had a thoroughly enjoyable holiday. Before we went we came across some of the reviews of the studio's and they made us very apprehensive of what we had let ourselves in for. When we got there we were pleasantly surprised. Yes, the beds are rather firm and the sheets & towels are a little tatty and if you are used to staying in three star plus accommodation you may well be disappointed but we paid just over £300 each for a week there in the middle of August which we think is really cheap. You can't expect too much for that kind of money.
The rooms themselves are spacious and airy and they have all the basics you need like a kettle, toaster, hob, microwave. The maid came in every other day to empty the bins and our towels were replaced midweek. There is no air-con which would have been welcome but there is a ceiling fan to help keep you cool. The pool is fine - we all went in it every day, and the staff are friendly and speak good English. The poolside bar serves a good selction of snacks as well as alcoholic and soft drinks and the prices are reasonable. Kassiopi itself is lovely and combines being a fishing village and tourist resort very well. There are lots of bars and restaurants to go to and even a couple of night clubs. We did not have any problem whatsoever with noise from them during our stay. All in all we thought this resort and accommnodation was great if you are looking for a cheap holiday and would certainly go again. If you are used to three or four star accommodation and are expecting something similar - don't go.

Room Tip: Room 5 is without doubt the best room if you like a view of the pool. Other rooms look out over adja...

We spent one week in this accommodation and got a very cheap deal. There are a lot of good points such as the location and the pleasant pool. However, the pool is a separate business owned and run by the same people. To use the pool it is cheap -2 euros but you get a drink for that. It's just a shame it's not free as it is advertised as being part of your accommodation. The rooms were really spacious but the bathroom was small. The accommodation was dirty, with splashes of food around, dirty floors and toilet, grubby bedding (full of holes) and really really hard beds. The resort is stunning but the accommodation was let down by it's cleanliness. It's not just that typical Greek basic standard that you often get as those places are basic but clean. It's a shame because it's got potential.
