I have been going to the Abaco Beach Resort for years. So when I chose a destination for my big birthday with my friends, I knew where I wanted to go. To say the least, the vacation far outlived all my expectations. Every detail was arranged perfectly, with the amazing help of Kevie Thomas from the Abaco Beach Resort ! Everyone in the Abacos was great...from Miss V and her cabs to the wonderful ferry services to Hopetown Harbour Lodge to Wally's to the Jib Room to Nippers....but most importantly to Abaco Beach. Our rooms were delightful and very clean, all with wonderful views. The food was amazing...and the entertainment wonderful. Thanks again...

My husband and I booked the Abaco Beach Resort for our honeymoon. The resort offered a "romance package" that included things like breakfast in bed, a couples massage, one free dinner, etc. When we arrived, nobody offered to help us to our room even though the room was about a mile from the front desk. There were no "honeymoon" essentials readily apparent in the room upon arrival either. I thought the resort could have done a much better job of making us feel welcome and like we were on our honeymoon- but no. When we started using the romance package vouchers - none of the vendors were familiar with the package and would let us know that they weren't sure why or how we were supposed to get a free dinner (or free boat rental, or breakfast in bed, etc.) It was somewhat stressful having to explain over and over again about the package. Also- the couples massage was one woman and one massage at a time. So, my husband napped while I got my massage and then I showered while he got his. Ridiculous. There are no beach chairs, no umbrellas, and definitely no waitresses bringing you cocktails on the beach. Its very secluded and somewhat rustic. The tv's were broken at the pool bar and everything closes down at around 10pm. The place definitely caters to boaters as it is a harbor. We will not be back!

We came from Charleston, SC and had a VERY easy time getting to the resort - the resort was only a few minutes from the airport. We left early and were in the restaurant by lunch time. The restaurant and pool bar both had great food and service. Stephen Colebrook played on Friday evening at the restaurant and the band, Rake 'n Scrape was a lot of fun for happy hour. We rented a boat directly from the marina each day and it was a blast exploring the cays. Again, the staff was great in helping making the arrangements and the boat rental company was fantastic. We had 24 ft whaler that ran great and it was very easy to get around. The snorkeling was beautiful and relaxing. I would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a casual vacation and that wants to get the real flavor of the Bahamas.

I was very impressed with the Abaco Beach Resort. The best thing about was the staff: they were super friendly, helpful and efficient. Our accommodation was very good: the room was spotless and had everything we needed. The food and service in the Anglers Restaurant was excellent (we had both breakfast and one dinner here). The best thing of all is that the location makes it a great base to see the other Abaco islands. We were able to vistit Guana, Elbow and Green Turtle cays all on this trip. The resort is a lot bigger physically than I expected to it's a bit of a hike from the room to the rest of the facilities. They have 2 pools, a quiet one and a central one with a swim up bar. I would definitely recommend this hotel to others.
