“pleasant place to dine”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 19, 2013

My husband and I are local and often go here for dinner whether its a quick meal after work or a longer evening out. The service is excellent and very attentive. You don't have to wait long for your meal. We had one pesto pizza bread for entree. One is enough for 2 people so good value. My husband then had the venison open sandwich and he was so full afterwards he couldn't face desert which is unusual for him. The venison was superb. I had the seared scallops which were delicious only wish there were more on my plate. Always a good atmosphere and still has the look of an old English pub.

“Referred by local, pleasantly surprised. Great meal”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 7, 2013

On our first night in New Zealand, we were running late and were looking for somewhere to eat for our 3 year old and ourselves (couple). Our B&B host suggested this as our young one shouldn't get in the way of anyone in a restaurant. It was early on a Thursday night and the restaurant wasn't at all busy. The menu was tempting and the food was very good. They had some colouring for our son to do and didn't mind him running about (a bit). The staff were attentive and the food was so good we opted for a rare dessert which didn't disappoint. Recommend.
