“Beautiful location”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 1, 2013

Vast area of graves attributed to the many lost lives on D-Day and afterwards. Theatre and exhibits of very high standard as is usual with American locations. Down side having to queue for security searches ( similar to airport security) one wonders if necessary. Free entry to Museum and cemetery. Flags lowered just before closing time. A very moving experience. ExcellentRest Rooms.

This cemetery and memorial is stunning. It was so moving to see such a beautiful monument and gorgeous resting place for those who served and sacrificed for freedom.

“Must stop if in Normandy”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 29, 2013

The reason you are travelling freely in France and Normandy, is because of the sacrifice of the men buried in this cemetary. Take an an hour or two to relect on these men and "boys" who paid the ultimate sacrifice for freedom. Maybe you will see a name on a cross from a town near yours, and you can visualize just one persons journey to France in 1944. (note: there is now a visitors center, with security check if you go in, or you can just walk directly into the cemetary.)

“A must do for Americans in Normandy”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 28, 2013

I don't know how an American can go to Normandy and not see the American Cemetery. It is peaceful and quiet, and feels properly respectful. It is hard to be hear without blinking back the tears. We went as part of a tour group, which was useful as the guide was able to point out several specific grave sites.

“Very touching!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 27, 2013

It is beautiful and very moving. The ceiling in the chapel is gorgeous. The statue is amazing. The trees are cut off at the top for the soldiers whose lives were cut short - truly moving!
