Tracy and I stayed at the wonderful C'era una volta in Mid March. The welcome from Francesca and her family was wonderful. As was the house itself. Spotlessly clean - better than some 5 star hotels we have stayed in. Its position in the town is delightful, set in the old part of town amongst the locals.
The roof terrace was a delight, we had our breakfast on the terrace every morning.
Scicli itself was a charming real Sicilian town - not a hint of tourism, which is what we were after. Francesca gave us a tour of the town which was thoroughly enjoyable and informative.
We paid a visit to Taormina and stayed in a hotel called Isola Bella for one night so that we could explore Mount Etna. the view from the hotel is absolutely magical.
Many thanks to Francesca for her help and advice. We are definitely planning to visit again soon.
