“Wonderful staff and well-positioned in-town”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 17, 2013

This is a wonderful boutique hotel in the center of the historic city of Scicli: everything is within easy walking distance and the staff is very helpful and friendly at every turn. The TomTom made a mess of finding the hotel through the curving narrow streets, stranding the car in an alley a half-block away. The desk clerk who said it happens all the time, got the car unstuck, out, and around to the hotel. Check-in went smoothly after that: the room was a short flight of stairs up and had a lovely view over the nearby square.

The room was stylish and well appointed, with warm woods and indirect lighting. There was a comfortable bed, good internet, local television, and coffee/tea service. The bathroom was clean and well-appointed with a cascade shower and moderate hot water and pressure. Breakfast is a treat: a wide selection off local breads and cereals, cheeses and meats, fruits and local pastries. And a cappuccino with a smile on top.

The staff had outstanding recommendations for dinner and for a local wine shop, and provided a jar of local honey, very hard to find, on departure. Highly recommended!

Room Tip: Take the upgrade

We stayed here for 5 nights in March 2013 and had a great time. The staff are very helpful with booking restaurants, tours etc. Breakfasts are great with delicious coffee, local honey and cheese as well as cereals, fruit, pastries etc. We stayed in the suite, which was a little more expensive than the other rooms, but was spacious with three balconies, a frescoed ceiling and bathroom with bathtub and shower. The hotel is right in the middle of the historic part of town and so is a bit tricky to find the first time but you are then right where you want to be for exploring. We would definitely recommend it and will consider returning.

We were recommended to this hotel by a local friend and were very pleased with the result. Finding it by car for the first time is a bit of a challenge but we were able to leave our hire car right outside the door in a little cobbled square for our two day stay. Very good welcome. Nice bar area (unusual for Italy) and excellent breakfast (very unusual) lots of fruit, good bread and anything you wanted cooked. Coffee freshly made, mmmm. The rooms were not enourmous but more than adequate and very attractive. But all in all, it was the frie ndly service that sticks in the mind.

We had a wonderful stay last week . The town is a gem: historic and unspoilt by tourism. This hotel is a beautifully renovated Baroque property in a quiet part of the town. All staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfasts were fabulous too.
If you are arriving by car, you may wish to consider parking it in the town and locate the hotel by foot. We travelled at night and locating the hotel was a challenge.

We loved our stay in September 2012! The hotel is nicely renovated and the staff wonderful. Breakfast was very good especially for an italian breakfast.
I have to say that Scicli was the best town we have seen on our roundtrip in Sicily. It is very romantic. Taking a walk in the old town in yellowish streetlight is an amazing experience!

We've been there with my husband for a week in may and we really feel to suggest you to this little jewel in the center of Scicli, very close to the street that is patrimony of Unesco and the set of the famous italian fiction " Il commissario Montalbano". The hotel is very charming and all the rooms are in a beautiful style that mixes vintage with modern, the service is really great, and the breakfast awesome.

Service was excellent; they helped with excursions, restaurants, directions, etc., and we were never disappointed. The rooms are
furnished with taste and attention to detail. The hotel is in the charming historic center with parking right outside the door.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a fresco
