We stayed 4 nights and the hotel was in a great location away from the frenetic chaos of Chaweng. You can walk into Chaweng or catch a local taxi in which costs about 50 baht a person. The hotel has great food, tasty and a good serve. The only disappointment was the standard bungalow we stayed in, the door had a gap and the mosquitoes were very bad, bring mozzie coils if you want a peaceful nights sleep.
Please be very careful when hiring motorbikes, we hired one through the hotel that came from a company up the road , the first day we returned at 2pm and didn't use the bike till the next morning. We had a flat tyre and pushed the bike back to the company, they made us pay 250 Baht for the damage even though we argued that the bike had sat all night at the hotel. They said we damaged the valve?
We then hired a car from another company and they were very picky when we returned it as they reckon there was a scratch on the back that wasn't previously there. Check the cars and bikes thoroughly before hiring them.
This is our third time to Samui having last been there 4 years ago. It was abit disappointing as has grown so much and is now very much like Bali, over commercialised .
There are still some peaceful lovely beaches located on the West coast.
