“Definitely recommend!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 14, 2014

We stayed here 28th July until 11th August 2014. There are two sides of the hotel, hillside and the beach side. We stayed in the hillside and had to cross the road to get to the main side of the hotel and beach. This was no issue at all, as you have a man to help you across even when there is no traffic. The hillside pool area is very quiet and in regards to both pools there is no issue in getting a sun bed! The hotel is located in the quieter end of Chaweng and was the perfect location for us. It is also the nicer end of Chaweng beach, less busy and beautiful water. It will take you 15 minutes to walk to busy Chaweng centre either by beach or road. The hotel provides a free shuttle 3 times a day, one way. If like us, you like to stay out late you can get a tuk tuk back to the hotel for around 100-150 baht (£2-3).

Breakfast is good with a wide selection on offer. We liked the omelettes and pastries. Food in the hotel is a bit pricey, we preferred to get food in local restaurants or from the beach people - very tasty and super cheap! Also hotel over charges on soft drinks, prices should be brought down. Happy hour on the cocktails are a treat though. We particularly loved a pool side bar worker named Sakdawad (Wad for short). He was absolutely lovely!

The room was large with a great, large bathroom. The shower was really good and the hair dryer worked really well so no need to take your own. Room was cleaned daily if requested and spotlessly clean. There are two bottles of drinking water provided daily in your room, for free, which is a really nice touch. Pool and bath towels also provided daily. There is free wi-fi around pool and bar areas but you have to pay to use in rooms. The rooms are a bit dark - brighter light bulbs would help.

You can easily book all trips via reception, who are very helpful. Just take the leaflet to the reception and they call up and book on your behalf - very stress free. Reception will also book you taxis to the airport etc. All reception staff are very helpful and the manager is very kind too.

Overall, we loved our stay at Kanda Buri and would definitely recommend. If we returned to Chaweng we would stay here again as we loved it.

Miss Watson and Mr Lee, London

Room Tip: A room on third floor will give you a better view.

The staff is friendly and helpful. The rooms are big and have an open concept. Pools are a nice size. Breakfast buffet has a nice selection and food is good. The only downfall is if you get a hill side room you have to cross the street to get to the beach (there are guards). It is a quiet location but still in walking distance along the beach (30min) to reach the centre of the town.

Wonderfull beachfront resort just 5 minutes walk from busy Chaweng centre
Enormous big rooms fits easy family with two children, very clean twice per day towel service
The best and biggest (12 M2) walk in bathroom if ever have seen.
Two great pool areas with beach bar and beautiful serviced beach with sun beds.
Great and friendly staff makes this a wonderful stay.

Room Tip: Up road building is more quit, download building more close to beach

A great hotel. The rooms are huge, and the bathrooms are absolutely massive. We had a hillside room which you crossed the road from the lobby to get to. This is not a problem, there is a staff member to help you cross every time and it's not even that busy.
There is a pool on both sides. We spent most time near the one on the beach. This pool is kept clean and never gets too busy. The staff are all very friendly.
We ate in the hotel one night and the food was great. Huge portions of lovely quality.
The beach in this area is also really nice, less busy than central chaweng. Just like paradise!

The hotel isn't quite in the location we thought probably due to our map reading skills however we were not disappointed. The transfer from the airport to the hotel and checking in was quick and painless.
We had rooms in the hillside and loved them. The rooms are massive and very comfortable. They are made up each day and we had fresh bath and beach towels even when we hadn't requested them. Only made breakfast a couple of times (late nights and comfy bed combo) and it was good. There is a restaurant and pool hillside which is very handy. Yes there are a number of steps down to the main road and then over to the beach but nothing to get annoyed about. Just think about how toned the calf muscles can get! The pool by the beach is lovely and doesn't get very crowded. No need to worry about reserving sunbeds!
We walked in to Chaweng along the road and via the beach. No problems either way although the beach route is less smelly!
Found Hugo's Bar on the walk back along the road the first night and we ended up there for a nightcap or 10 most nights. Toby and his partner are very welcoming and friendly. Give it a go.
All in all a great hotel in a good location. We would definitely go back.

Greeted warmly and we're provided with a sea view room. For the price this place is well worth it. A little further from the main town. Pools are great - breakfast lots to choose from. Would stay here again.

Room Tip: 337 is a sea view room.

On 21st july we started our tour of northern Thailand with Orientour. From bangkok we went north visiting Ayutaia, Sukotai Chang may and Chang Rai. Mr Vittaya, our guide was really good at making us discover the monuments, temples and the culture of northern Thailand. We really enjoyed the fact that Orientours organizes small groups in a van (there were four tourists on the van) so that we could experience a tailored trip of a week. Vittaya had also a good knowlwdge of plants and vegetables, besides religion and culture!
Now we are relaxing in Kandabury hotel on the beach of Chaweng. The beach is the most beautiful on the island, according to our experience, and the hotel is placed on the northern part and it is very quiet! Luckily there are not many tourists. The water in front of the hotel is very shallow and, warm and the sand is white. The services in the hotel are very good. The food is excellent. You can choose either buffet or à la carte. There is also a thai restaurant, but you can always dine thai in the restaurant on the beach.
Starting from the hotel we went diving to ko tau, but actually the ship Calypso is not the best when the sea is rough and I felt sea sick all day!!! Our best sea excursion was at the marine park of angtonghwhich also included kayaking and snorkeling (and lunch)
We would recommend this hotel which is situated on the most crowded beach of koh Samui, but which is "far from the madding crowd" and in the evening we like going walking on the beach which is lit by the verious restaurans on the sand and by chinese lanterns flying in the sky.

Room Tip: It depends on the money you have but both the hill side (less expensive) and the beach side rooms ar...
