“Amazing hotel, great staff!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 9, 2014 via mobile

We just finished our atay at buri rasa, having previously stayed at a 5 star resort nearby (Akaryn) and must say buri rasa exceeded out expectations and we regretted staying at akaryn prior, the service from staff is exceptional, especially Tono who is very friendly, welcoming and helpful, we loved it due to the fact the the hotel is reasonably priced for everything compared to previous which tried to overcharge even for the smallest things, buri rasa beach is amzing and cleaned daily therefore very nice, staff on beach will setup beds and shade as required for each individually, food is very good and they leave small momentos every evening which really make you feel special, the manager even though we did not have the chance to speak to him, was allways around talking to visitors, and seems very approachable, thankyou buri rasa we will be back!!!

How this has come down in trip advisor I don't know, it should still be at number 1.

Fantastic staff, cleanliness, fantastic breakfast, everyday at 3 workshops are held ( Thai cooking, towel art, afternoon tea, to name a few all complimentary)

in past reviews people mentioned noise from a close hotel, we only heard it one day and it was at 3 in afternoon, for about an hour.

Things to warn you about, jet skis to the right, as you look out to sea. Avoid at all cost, our boys went on them and got blamed for a slight crack in the lid, it was Mathia run and ended up been escorted to the bank for £800, the hotel manager helped to negotiate down the price and was lovely. It is a scam so avoid the jet skis at all cost.

This happened but was no reflection on the hotel at all and say to people book book review and it will get back to the one spot.

Dear Mickynicky

Thank you for posting your ‘Paradise’ review here on Tripadvisor. As mentioned in your review the cooking class and afternoon activities are some of the things that makes us such a special resort and thank you for mentioning this. You also mentioned about the jet skis please be aware that Buri Rasa is not responsible for the operation of these water sport activities and please also note that the hotel does not support these in any way.

With this said please do send me an email directly as I will be delighted and welcome you back to Buri Rasa Village Samui.

We returned to Buri Rasa in April on The Songkran, Thai New Year, we were greeted with the customary Smearing of chalk on the face as we checked in. A Thai Custom on this day.

Having stayed here many times in the past we have gotten used to the fantastic service and the "Can do" attitude of the staff, from front of house all the way through to the room service personal. You will not get better service anywhere, they are fantastic and make you feel like you are part of the family.
We spent a lot of time on the beach just relaxing, there was some music noise but we found it relatively peaceful and were not bothered at all. Our son spent his time making new friends and swimming nearly the whole time, always under the watchful eye of the alert staff, they just cant do enough to help you relax.
The biggest decision of the day was the choice for lunch and what cocktail to try out first. "The Mudslide is a Beauty, Give it a Go" that's my advice.
We dined on the Beach on several occasions and had fantastic meals and service every time, Chart, Pong, The Lovely Ead and Porn made it special.
Arm, Bee and Nook and many whose names escape me, are all very talented at what they do, great service all round.

The Breakfast is always good with a huge variety of fresh juices and foods for all tastes. You can even slap up a Bloody Mary if you fancy, the ingredients are all there ready to be mixed to your own liking, nice treat some mornings.
We had Room 14 with a dip pool in a lovely private courtyard, we only used it a few times, mainly when returning from shopping to cool down before walking down to the beach which is only a short stroll through the beautiful Village gardens.

We can not say enough to promote this Boutique Village, you need to check it out for yourself to appreciate how good it is. We have only been home a few weeks and already thinking about planning our next visit. The best spot on Chaweng Beach, close enough to the shopping and nightlife but far enough away to be peaceful and private.

To Michael, Aor, Tono, Lee ad all front of house staff, Many thanks. What a great team.

Room Tip: The Ground floor rooms, the dip pool is a nice touch. All rooms are pretty good. Stay toward the poo...

We came to Buri Rasa village one week ago. In 2 hours we had a nice dinner on the beach and the only thing which was a little bit strange was an old shoe beside our table...
The hotel's team is professional and very nice. the breakfast is outstanding, the room with the garden and dip pool is something that makes you happy. The service is very good and the attention from the team's side towards guet is on a high level.
Thanks a lot to the team and GM!
But the only thing that still is a surprise after one week staying in the hotel is the same old shoe on the shore ))) And on the same place)))Tomorrow before leaving I will take it to the garbage myself.

A quiet and private boutique hotel on an excellent beach. Marvelous breakfast buffet of a higher quality than one could reasonably expect anywhere. Lots of little touches. The problems are the booming music from the property next door (during daylight hours) and the mosquitoes. The latter two were too much for me, but as many have said before, not all are so sensitive to these nuisances. I saw many happy guests, and think this is one of those properties that can be a pleasure if the the two negatives won't bother you. Otherwise, you'll soon feel confined in this small and narrow property.

Dear MovnOut

Thank you for posting your ‘Superb’ review on Tripadvisor. Indeed the hotel beach is excellent and I would also like to thank you for mentioning the breakfast. Concerning the hotel music next door we are still in the process of sorting this issue out with the hotel owners next door and hopefully this will be finalized very soon. I do sincerely apologize for this.

Yours faithfully,

I have been a week at Buri Rasa with my friend: wonderful place!
The hotel management is very good and they take a very good care of you. The restaurant is super nice, very good food and excellent location on the beach.
The beach is very nice, the sea is clean and you can take such nice walks on the sand.
WE had a week of completly relax if not one slight problem: the next door resprt is KC club and they play horrible tecno music from 1 pm until 6 or 7 pm, we have been told only during the weekend, but actually it was everyday, just less loud during the week.
The other thing a bit disappointed is that this beautiful stunning resort has no twin bed rooms: so i had to sleep all the week together with my friend in a one queen size bed.

We had a really good experience staying at this hotel. The breakfast was very delicious and also has a lot of varieties of food to choose from. There was also a lot of great activities they set up, for example: teaching us how to cook Thai food, yoga in the morning and tea time in the afternoon. Overall it was a really good hotel and we look forward to come back next time.
