Description: No fuss. No fancy terms. No pretension. The Larder takes things back to basics, serving up rustic casual dining and cocktails with a twist. Chef Martin Selby and Drink Guru Damian Ahern offer up modern British and International cuisine with a mix of comfort food and classics that have been revived, remixed and reinvigorated by merging modern cooking methods and techniques alongside cocktails that have been deconstructed into new liquid magic.

“Good food, lack of proper guest handling”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 3, 2014

Restaurant was recommended by our hotel. Location is at the very far end of Chaweng main road. Avoid tables outside as directly on the busy road from the airport. Go there for good food, some of the best we had in Samui. Not cheap, but considering the quality worth a try. We felt a serious lack of welcome and warmth by the management. All straight and correct, but don't expect recognition or similar. If this side of the operation could be improved it would surely the top or among the top 3 restaurants in Samui. We can recommend a visit.

“Give it a miss.”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed January 1, 2014

The Larder
My wife and I unfortunately had dinner at the Larder.
This is one restaurant that has got it all wrong.
On entering the restaurant we were shown to a table order taken and then asked to leave the table as another customer wanted the table.
After some discussion the waitress said she made a mistake and that she had booked the table for someone else but now we could stay.
Next the waitress brought us our drinks and spilled the drinks.
The service was surly and unpleasent
The dinner only got worse.
The food, we only ordered main courses as we were going to have desert, luckily we only ordered main courses. The food was terrible ,the portions are small ,expensive and not what anyone would expect in any restaurant.
Any low end restaurant on the street in Samui can do better than this restaurant.
The larder may appear as a quality restaurant but appearances are most deceiving.
Whoever set up this restaurant has a nice concept in the layout but as regards to food and how a restaurant should be run and food should be prepared has absolutely no idea.
There are many good restaurants on Samui don’t be taken in by the décor it is not hard to find better than the Larder.
This is one place that deserves a miss.

“Perfect!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 1, 2014

This was really close to our hotel (anantara lawana) and we thought we would give it a try, the food was some of the best we have ever had not just in Thailand but anywhere. A bit on the pricey side but definitely worth it

“Good food not more”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed December 31, 2013

Starters were excellent, the mains were just normal and nothing to rave about.
Restaurant was busy but after a few minutes on the bar we were seated outside.
Wooden chairs outside are not comfortable and location is directly on the road.
Interior has a nice design and staff is ok/friendly.
Wines by the glass are not great, other drink menue is ok.
Overall a nice dining experience but not a honey mooon dining spot! Romantic is different!
