“Amazing Honeymoon at Baan Haad Ngam Boutique Hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 20, 2013

We stayed here for 2 weeks for our honeymoon. Upon arriving the staff were friendly and helpful. You get the best of both with them, as they leave you to it if you want to be left, or will happily help and chat with you if you want as well. We opted for the pool-villa room with being on our honeymoon and I am really glad we did, the room was so spacious and clean and it felt like our own piece of paradise, and the jacuzzi bath was a welcome addition. They make up the room daily so you always have fresh towels etc.

The pool is also lovely and the view of the beach is idyllic.

This hotel is perfect if you want the peace and quiet and relaxation during the day and then the option of being only a 15 minute walk or 5 minute taxi journey into the centre where there are bars and restaurants and market stalls galore!

Overall this was a lovely holiday and we will definitely be going back for one of our anniversarys!!

Room Tip: Definitely pay extra for the pool-villa room - its worth the extra money - especially if you are hon...

My girlfriend and i stayed here first week in May. I tried to enjoy this place but there were too many issues. We stayed in a Pool villa which were beautiful, would recommend these any day. We arrived in the afternoon, relaxed in our room a bit then set out for the day, went to shower that night and had no hot water. So after explaining to the front desk we had no hot water in our villa they sent someone round with a kettle. After physically demonstrating about our issue the repair man came and whilst he was fixing it it blew up, two big bangs and sparks that lit up the room, which was a bit scary as the man was outside fixing it while the box inside blew up. So we had to pack everything up and move at 8 at night, which wasnt a problem as our new room had hot water but no view.
Our spa was always filled with black dirt, filled it up and ran the vents 3 times and still had crap in it, that was disappointing. Overall i wouldnt come back, One man could speak English pretty good who i think was the owner, everyone else, good luck. I mean everyone was nice, but had no idea what you were saying, the rooms were a bit outdated, our shower did not drain properly so after 5 minutes you had water up to your ankles.
Hope this helps.

Stayed in Koh Samui for 5 nights & loved Baan Haad Ngam.
As soon as we arrived, got shown to our room & headed down to the pool we all just thought wow!

The hotel is really close to the airport, not even 10 minutes away. We stayed in a deluxe villa - it had a more traditional thai feel, with a wooden furniture, a mosquito net bed and high hut roofing. The bathroom was big, with a spa bath.

The views really are picture perfect, we spent a lot of time by the pool, as it was quiet we pretty much had the whole pool to ourselves.

Ate at Olivio for dinner one night, had yummy pizzas. The buffet breakfast was great, and also ate lunch by the pool. Plenty to choose from on the menu.

The hotel tour desk helped us organise tours and made great recommendations.

We enjoyed a thai massage at the hotel spa which was great. Small ladies but very strong!

Take a walk along the beach, there are plenty of beach restaurants to eat at. Or get a tuk tuk to the main road. We preferred this, great night market, shops and restaurants to choose from. Cost 150THB from the hotel.

Really enjoyed our stay and would recommend this to friends & family 100%.

We stayed in a deluxe villa and had a fantastic 2 week holiday. Staff were very friendly and efficient, and always helpful. We made some nice friendships during our stay. The breakfast buffet was excellent, with a different main menu everyday. The accommodation was clean, comfortable and spacious, with a daily cleaning service. The location was good (northern part of the beach) providing some privacy, with a 5 minute walk along the beach to some local restaurants situated on the beach. The hotel provided free transport into the centre of Koh Samui, and to the Friday night Bophut fisherman's village market (not to be missed).
Highly recommended and good value.

Room Tip: Deluxe villa is not much more expensive than a standard room but well worth it.

Coming from Chiang Mai where everyone was so friendly and the hotel staff were amazing, we were very disappointed with our stay in Koh Samui. They staff didn't speak very good English which made it difficult when we were trying to find out information and ask questions about the resort. They would benefit from some more customer service training. However, the housekeeping staff and the occasional manager (I think) we saw walking around the grounds were very friendly.

We were spoilt with champagne, fresh fruit and the swans and rose petals on our bed when we arrived which was lovely. The rooms were nice enough but the resort hasn't been maintained very well. We had a nice spa bath in our room but at a closer look at the amenities it looked a bit worse for wear.

A part from the less than friendly service, the worst part about our stay would have to be the bed. It was so hard and uncomfortable we work up each day in pain. Lucky massages are cheap.

The pool was nice and so was the beach. Buffet breakfast was pretty average as well but ok. We did eat at Olivios one night and the food there was lovely. Beware of the cocktails though, if it doesn't specify a mixer on the menu, it doesn't come with one e.g. I ordered a mudslide and it was just straight alcohol and a piece of ice.

We hired a scooter for a day just outside the hotel but they take your passport in case you decide to sell the bike. I was very uncomfortable about this but my partner did it without my knowing. If you hire through the hotel you don't have to hand over your passport but it is more expensive.

There is no gym either. The spa looked ok but again more expensive than in town. They also no longer offer half of the treatments on their price list.

We wouldn't stay here again and probably wouldn't travel to Koh Samui again either.
