We booked the Sheraton for 9 nights we stayed only one. The hotel had opened the day before we arrived.
The hotel is very old, the rooms are tired and not clean. There were electrical wires on the floor just outside our room. Workers were drilling and banging all day. One pool was working while the other one was out of service. There was rubbish everywhere. It was a total chaos. The hotel should've stayed closed for refurbishment 2-3 more months.
The staff was very friendly and nice. They tried their best to help us.
The beach on that side of the island is the best.

I stay here for only 1 night for 2 room. This hotel is new property for Starwood brand (not new building but rebrand from imperial). Front desk staff was helpful but check- in and check-out process spent a bit long time but i understand they just change the hotel chain. The room was nice but if they assign my 2 room together it will be better. The pool and staff at the bar was great and i really like the pool at this resort. Overall this resort is wonderful and nice resort.

PS. Taxi to pier is around 700-100 THB per Car. You can contact at the front desk to make a reservation.

Good hotel with easy access to Chaweng and Lamai. A steep entrance to the resort so make sure to hire a 4x4 if you are renting a car. Pool and tennis courts.

Be sure to call resort if you plan to check in after 5pm.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with privacy if you don't want people looking into your room from the walkway out...

With regards to the comments about your check-in after 5pm, I am concerned to learn that your arrival experience didn't create a more favourable impression of our resort. We truly value all feedback to help us improve our service levels and with this in mind I would welcome further details concerning your arrival experience. Please feel free to email the resort via the contact details on our website, marked for my attention.

I do hope we will have the pleasure of welcoming you back in the future where I trust we will be able to exceed your expectations.

This review is a follow up from my previous posting at the Banyan Tree, Samui
I moved into the hotel to be nearer the hospital my wife was being cared for, while the BT management and staff were absolutely wonderful, I need to stress that the Sheraton management and staff had never met myself or my wife when I booked in, however this did not prevent the General Manager and his team performing well above what could be expected for another guest who just arrived off the street so to speak
Food and transport was provided without any suggestion of payment, anything in the way of food my wife took a liking to was made up immediately and proved on time to be taken to the hospital
The hotel itself was good, still being uprated to the GMs very high standards, but I could not identify any great failings, good food, friendly staff, excellent beach and very clean modern room
A great advertisement for a new hotel which had only been open a couple of weeks and can only improve !
Will certainly return later in the year and recommend to friends

- Bad customer service (they just don't care...)
- Pick-Up shuttle service stood-up and never showed at the place
- Room view facing the back in front of the sewage pipes (see photos attached)
- Safe not working (had to call to get it fixed)
- WIFI intermediate working on/off each time need to call reception to get it reset
- Although we ordered breakfast included in the room rate in advance they said we aren't eligible for such meal
- Overall unsatisfying stay! In an Island there's plenty of better and cheaper resorts to choose from...
- No compensation offered, manager came to speak with us upon check-out, said he was sorry to hear, but wasn't helpful at all...

Room Tip: Try asking for a high floor room with an ocean view inside - good luck with that!

Hotel
I stayed from 31st March 2015 to 6th April 2015. The hotel has changed name from Imperial to Sheraton recently. Owned by the same people who own the Brand Chang. I was lucky enough to be the 2nd guest for this new brand! A pretty design and interior reflecting sea! Mostly night blue color!
Nice sized rooms, clean tubs and balcony in beach front facing rooms. Big size TV and all amnesties.

Beach and Location
Nice open beach, clean water, not much crowds and noisy.
The Jungle Club is nearby, a golf course, Pharmacy, 7/11, Laundry, Bike Hire, Bob bar with billiards, Bangkok Hospital and ATM's. Can find Samui buses and Taxis outside.

Pools and Buggies
Two pools one near the lobby which is like a normal pool one near the beach facing the sea! I didn't use either as went for the beach but good for kids.
One passage way through the pool which is easier to walk to beach front rooms and beach! Otherwise the hotel provides the golf buggies to take to the beach front rooms which is really cool!

Restaurant and Breakfast
Long Talay the restaurant is pretty average with limited choices but not bad if you don't fell like going out!
I was a bit surprised at the breakfast as i stayed in Sheraton Royal Orchid in Bangkok and it was cheaper but had really lavish breakfast. I though compared to a resort the breakfast can have more choices and dishes especially vegetable fried rice, fish, hash browns and more soups. The chef was kind enough to add fried rice on my request but vegetables fried rice is more appropriate so if someone does not want meat in the morning they can eat that too.
Blue monkey the hotel's bar has nice cocktails served on the beach chairs or in the open bar.

Spa and Gym
I liked the spa very courteous service, nice trained therapist and reasonable prices for a resort especially compared to European prices.
Gym is really good with new machines, beach view and garden view, free bottles of water and free towels.

Service
The staff were really kind and helpful. A new resort so some staff were still under training but that is understandable. Whenever i asked for the buggy in the room or room service they were there with smile.

Overall
Slightly expensive at its full prices but never the less i had a memorable time.

Recommendations
I would recommend the resort to add a fridge for bottles in the gym. Have a trainer if possible. Allow customers to use buggies if licensed or leave buggies near the beach at a station so staff can use it quicker. Put a signboard in the passage way from the pool to the beach. Add more dishes in Long Talay and breakfast.

Room Tip: Nice location for relaxation!! Front facing hotels with balcony are nicer but pricier!!
